A: Not sure what the official specs are but we support a Thermography camera and motorized pan/tilt mechanism from it. The combination weighs about 5 pounds. The closer the arm is to the wall the stronger it will be, and of course the more horizontal extension used it won't support as much. The lock knob can be cranked down pretty tight, and the arm and wall plate are very solid (typical for Manfrotto).

A: This Wimberly tripod is awesome! It is very smooth in any direction and can be set to stop dead and hold at any angle. Adjustments are quick and easy. The craftsmanship on the head is the best I have seen. I have owed mine for several months and used it from Alaska to the Carrabean and do not think there could be a better one out there. Erick
