Save your floor space, with Impact's heavy-duty 7' HD Wall-Mounted Boom Arm. Featuring two stabilizing tubes with wide diameters for increased sturdiness, the Wall-Mounted Boom Arm telescopes from 3.9 to 7' in length and supports 12 lb loads at full extension. In addition to lighting fixtures, it can also serve a variety of other uses, including hanging background fabrics. To further preserve space, the boom arm fully collapses against the wall in just a couple of quick steps.

The 7' Wall-Mounted Boom Arm comes with a removable 5/8" spigot that can be inserted on the end from the top or side. The spigot is reversible and offers 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 male threads on opposite ends. When fully extended, the Boom Arm offers the flexibility of 150° of tilt and 150° of pan movement. Length is adjustable via a locking ratchet handle, and a locking knob on the support tube provides extra reinforcement for your payload. A cable clamp is also included for keeping your cables safely organized. The 7' Wall-Mounted Boom Arm comes with mounting screws and anchors and an Allen key for adjustments.

Q: 4. Will the Deity S-Mic2s fit ok, and which Rycote BBG will be best ?

A: The Rycote BBG Windshield fits microphones that have a 20mm diameter. The Deity Microphones S-Mic 2S Short Shotgun Microphone has a diameter of 19mm, so the BBG is going to be a bit loose. You could use a rubber grommet or rubber band to create a tighter fit so the BBG stays in place. This is the smallest size BBG that Rycote offers.

A: No, the Rycote 011002 BBG Windshield for Handheld or Boom-Mounted Interview Mics is intended for use with microphones that have a 22mm diameter. It will not fit a microphone with a 23mm diameter.

Q: 9. Could I control the "view" of the monitors with something like StreamDeck/Companion instead of using the BMD software?

A: Yes, you can control the view of the monitors using third party apps with the Blackmagic SmartView Ethernet Protocol v1.3 information laid out in the manual.

Q: 10. Does the BBG windscreen come with the mount as shown?

A: The Rycote 011001 BBG Windshield includes the baby ball gag only. The shock mount, microphone, and cable in the photos are for illustration and are not included with the BBG.

[Wall Mount Boom] My studio isn't the biggest, and this was a game-changer. No more tripping over stands. I wasn't sure how well it would hold, so I tested it over the weekend with it extended at a weird angle and it didn't move an inch!

[5/8" Receiver] I purchased these at a special price. I installed it yesterday to use for my strobes and for the items I photograph for a client. He called and brought over his latest piece and it was PERFECT. I was able to manipulate the arms to where I needed them. I opted to change the mounting method by creating a 19 x 19 mounting plate out of plywood then mount that onto two studs, then boom arm plate to the plywood, and a solid surface for the lag bolts and the screws.
I love the ability to move strobes to 90 degrees straight or 90 degrees up. So much versatility between strobes and studio lights for videos. Bonus... fewer stands on the floor.

[8.3 lb] I mounted this in my studio onto a 2x4 vertical post. It swings and extends easily and supports a modest monolight no problem. Saves a lot of floor space not having to set up a tall light stand. Seems to be built very well.

[Wall Mount Boom] Great overall build quality, but the provided screws were a problem for me when going into solid wood. Even with pre-drilling it was very difficult to drive the 1-1/2 inch screws without stripping the Philips heads. I ended up replacing the screws with 1/4-in x 1-1/2 inch lag screws, which you can easily drive with a 7/16-inch wrench or socket.

[Wall Mount Boom] This is not your typical application... I needed to have lights over some woodworking tools in a garage with very tall ceilings. The 7' reach on these boom arms worked great, and I can extend the reach further by connecting a tube to the end.
Suggestion: mount at least 2 of the 4 mounting screws into studs, or upgrade the wall anchors.

[5/8" Receiver] This boom arm is very versatile and strong. I have put a Godox AD400 Pro on it with a medium size softbox and there are no stability issues. Make sure you have enough room for this arm, with the minimum length of it, it could be too big for small studios. Mounting higher on a wall will give you a bit more flexibility.

I have mine mounted to a piece of plywood that was mounted to a stud first, then mounted the boom arm onto the plywood.

[Wall Mount Boom] Great construction and reliability! I have another one from a cheaper solution and the brakes are always slipping. This one is rock solid!

[8.3 lb] This is a heavy duty light mounting option, and it easily holds my Godox SL60 with a softbox. I purchases this model over other brands because it seems to be the longest on the market. This allows me to shoot from multiple angles within my studio with minimal setup. Be sure to mount directly to a wall stud because the boom is heavy on it's own, but add a light at length and that's a lot even for drywall anchors. Once it's set its very functional, easy to adjust, super sturdy, and best of all, there's nothing to knock over or trip on.

[5/8" Receiver] I use this to get overhead camera mounted or shotgun mic over head. Very adjustable and feels very solid. Mounted this with my own screws to a wall stud. The included screws turned out to be useless for this purpose.

[5/8" Receiver] Actually much stronger than I expected. Having the mobility of moving lights with out worrying about knocking them over is awesome!
