A: The inside diameter of the mount rings is 3/4 inch when empty. I use a Rode NTG 2 and its outside diameter is 7/8 inch. I believe the VidPro XM-55 has the same outside diameter of 7/8 inch.

Q: 10. Does this use a common thread like an AKG P420?

A: On the bottom both have a 5/8 tread in order to connect it to a stand/or microphone arm. I also tried the AKG P420 with this shock mount and it fits however the microphone doesn't fully lock in place. I would recommend to use the AKG P420 shock mount for better stability.

[0.365 lb] We bought this to operate our Red when we have it mounted on a crane for overhead shots. We leave it up there for a couple days to shoot over shoulders and product stuff. Rather than reaching up or pulling the crane down on every shot, it brings the start/stop to us. Super small and effective. 5
