This serial-over-IP control solution features a rugged metal housing and an extended operating temperature range, you can rest assured that the device server can deliver the reliable performance you need, even in harsh environments.

Plus, it features two integrated mounting brackets, so you can mount the device server to a surface or a wall as needed, for out-of-the-way installations.

With redundant power input, this dual-port serial device server ensures seamless operation, even in the event of power dips or failures. It features a wide-range, terminal block power input (9~36 VDC), and includes a universal power adapter.

Because it features two power inputs, if you experience a power disruption the device server automatically switches to its secondary power source. With redundant power input, the device server remains operational if one of the power sources fails, so you can continue to connect to and manage your serial devices when needed.

This highly customizable device server is easy to configure to suit your application. For easy setup, Windows users can use the provided Virtual COM port software, or the versatile Web-based interface.

The RS232 device server supports Telnet (an operating system independent communication protocol), so it can be integrated into mixed OS environments (Windows, Mac, Linux). Plus, it supports VCOM, TCP, ICMP, IP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, and BOOTP protocols.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this control a Sony BRC-X1000? Will it provide all the focus/zoom/iris/pan/tilt functions that a Sony controller does?

A: It will offer control via VISCA protocol same as SONY. Features may differ from actual and specific SONY controllers.

Q: 2. Can this controller be powered by POE?

A: Yes this controller can be powered via PoE or using the provided power supply and an available electrical outlet.

Q: 3. I want to use this controller via RJ45 (network). Can I control nearly any PTZ specifically by their IP?

A: If the AIDA Imaging Compact VISCA Serial & IP PTZ Camera Controller is connected via RJ45 to a network, it can control up to 7 PTZ cameras as long as those cameras on the same network support VISCA-over-IP.

Q: 4. Can I save a zoom IN or OUT as a preset?

A: The presets can set zoom in or zoom out functions as well as positioning.

Q: 5. Does this controller support camera position presets?

Q: 6. Will this work with the Sony SRG-X400? Thanks!

A: The AIDA Imaging VISCA Serial & IP PTZ Camera Controller should support the SRG-X400 camera since it supports Visca over IP. However, we recommend Sony's RM-IP10 controller as the best compatible choice. Sony RM-IP10 IP Remote Controller for BRC Cameras BH #SORMIP10

Q: 7. Can you set how fast the camera moves when using presets?

A: Yes, there are speed adjustments.

Q: 8. I have avipas av-1081. if I use this av-3104se is it a simple RS232 cable to camera or is more to it. ifso doyou have the cable?

A: The AViPAS 4D Serial Joystick Controller (No IP Function) does support RS-232 via it's D-Sub 9-Pin output. You could connect the controller directly to the camera using a cable like the TecNec Visca Camera Control Cable 9-P D-Sub F to 8-P DIN M 50 Ft (BH #TEV9F50). See: https://bit.ly/42jOYJZ

Q: 9. Is this compatible with Sony SRG-400 and EPTZOptics cameras?

A: Yes, AVMATRIX Professional IP & Serial PTZ Camera Joystick Controller would be able control PTZOptics and Sony cameras through the VISCA protocol.

Q: 10. Will this control PTZ-X20-IP with RS-232 serial cables?

A: Yes, the AIDA Imaging 20x Full HD IP Broadcast PTZ Camera can be controlled with the VISCA protocol with the AIDA Imaging VISCA Serial & IP PTZ Camera Controller.

[11.3 oz / 320 g] I have purchased these cards numerous times for PCs with instruments (GC/MS, FTIR etc) connected to them and they have always worked.

Cheap and reliable always a winner.

[1.8 lb] I purchased this TX / RX pair to provide a video based demo for a new gigabit networked product I am developing. Connected up to an optical gigabit network through media converters, ran HDMI video out from smartphone and display the video at a remote location possible 30 miles away. This product did the job for me with no problems... worth the investment.

[Steel] This is a ( very late ) update to last year's review.

In Jan 2022 , I used multiple ST12MHDLAN units to distribute (scoreboard and presentation ) video for a large gymnastics meet ( in a large convention center )

The ST12MHDLAN units worked perfectly at the event just like they did in my test "lab".

see previous review for more details

Note: I recommend using HDMI cables that have "slim" connector bodies. HDMI Cables with "fat" connector bodies will not seat perfectly ( and can be knocked loose easily ) due to the placement of a screw on the chassis of the ST12MHDLAN.

[11.3 oz / 320 g] We operate a church broadcast system and needed to transmit the audio and video across a 1600' RF link. The radios show variable download bandwidth between 30 and 80 Mbps. We have experienced excellent reception with no video or audio drops or freezing.

[1.8 lb] Had the lan connection on my motherboard fail- not sure why, so I put one of these into the pcie socket and it worked with no downloads or any trouble at all. This is a win 10 professional pc with an msi motherboard. Speed seems excellent and as fast as on any of my other machines. I am very pleased with this purchase

[1.8 lb] I will be using multiple ST12MHDLAN units to distribute video for a large gymnastics meet.
The ST12MHDLAN units will have 2 roles:

role 1. Distribute video based scoreboard streams from 3 scoring computers ( running ProScore v5 ) to 3 projector based "scoreboards" ( in this mode each TX-RX pair operates independently 1-to-1 )

role 2. At the start of each session , distribute a video based presentation to all 3 projectors.
(in this mode 1 TX unit streams ( multi-cast ) to 3 RX units 1-to-3 )

Switching between the 2 roles is done via a simple StarTech Chrome app. (a few mouse clicks)

Combined with NetGear S350 smart-switches ( which have VLAN and IGMP support), the ST12MHDLAN will allow me to
distribute both video data and score input data over a single LAN ( single set of cables). In previous years I had a scoring "data" LAN and a separate analog ( VGA extender based) video distribution setup. The new solution will greatly reduce the amount of cabling and the amount of work needed to tape down cabling.

I have performed extensive testing .... solution works great in my "test lab" ... and is ready for "production".
( The meet is in January ... I will try to remember to update this review after the meet )
