For this you will need a microphone that is self-powered. Our SGM-250 model shotgun microphone can run off a AA battery and could be adapted to a mini input if desired. However, for better results, we'd recommend the SMX-15 microphone for unbalanced, mini-jack connections. The SMX-15 also has a built in gain booster circuit to help over come the noise that is usually inherent in the poorer quality mic preamps that are built into most mirrorless and DSLR cameras.
