This Alzo 3.5mm Female to Dual XLR Male Stereo Microphone Adapter Cord for Pro Camcorders is designed to connect a stereo camera-mount microphone with a 3.5mm output cable to the XLR inputs of a camcorder.

Professional strain relief on the connectors helps to ensure reliablity even after repeated use, and one of the XLR connections is red to help you differentiate between the left and right sides. The cable is only 8" long—ideal for a camera rig—and can be used with a wide variety of mics including models from Rode, Azden, Audio-Technica, Shure, Sony, Tascam, and more. The cable is not designed to be used with phantom power.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this let me connect a Rode Wireless Go receiver to the Rodecaster Pro?

A: No. You should use this one: Rode VXLR - Mono Mini-Jack to XLR Converter BH #ROVXLR: https://bhpho.to/398Q5Rk

Q: 2. Can someone confirm that this cable splits the right channel and the left channel? I'm thinking it might go well with the Deity Microphone V-Mic D4 duo on and ENG type camera such as the Sony FS5.

A: Yes. This cable will split the left and right on the 3.5mm to seperate male XLR conectors.

Q: 3. would this work with the Fuji xt3?

A: Yes this will fit the PC socket of the camera

Q: 4. If I connect the 3.8mm to a Hollyland Lark Max, and the XLRs into an Ursa Mini Pro, will it split the left and right signals?

A: If the Hollyland Lark Max receiver is set to stereo mode, then the ALZO 3.5mm Female to Dual XLR Male Stereo Microphone Adapter Cord will carry left and right signals on the first and second XLR outputs respectively. If it is set to mono mode, the same mixed signal will be carried on both XLR connectors.

Q: 5. I'd like to use the 9V battery powered Rode Videomic (VIDEOMIC-R) to connect with a Zoom PodTrak P4. Will a standard VXLR converter work with that, or do I need this VXLR+ for it? Thanks!

A: With 9V battery installed, the standard VXLR converter will work.

Q: 6. will it work with takstar sgc-598?

A: That adapter will work for the Takstar SGC-598 microphone, to connect to an XLR input. Since that Takstar mic is battery powered, the less costly ROVXLR adapter would also work: https://bhpho.to/3AOKIE9

Q: 7. My guess is that you can’t, but is it possible to only buy the phantom power converter?

A: The RODE VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter adapts an XLR input with phantom power to a 3.5mm input with plugin power. There is no consumer device that does this without any connectors, although some type of OEM circuit may be available from electronics suppliers if you are working on a custom build.

Q: 8. Can this be used as an adapter for PA's or DJ's desks into a XLR input on a recorder?

A: The Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter is typically used to adapt microphones with 3.5mm wiring to XLR inputs, however this adapter could presumably work in the same manner with a line level 3.5mm connection from a DJ deck into a line level XLR input on a recorder.

Q: 9. Can I use this to connect the DJI Mic2 Transmitter to a Rodecaster Pro 1?

A: The RODE VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter can work to output from a DJI Mic 2 receiver, to the XLR input on a Rodecaster Pro, together with a 3.5mm output cable. Since the power conversion is not needed for this setup, I would recommend the less costly Rode VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter instead: https://bhpho.to/42sHsNK . Depending on the situation, especially if wireless is not needed, you may also want to consider other microphone options. Please reach out to us for help choosing one that meets your specific requirements.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with balanced or unbalanced XLR?

A: The VXLR+ is designed to convert high voltage phantom power used with pro balanced XLR mic inputs into much lower bias voltage (plug-in power) that is needed by many unbalanced electret condenser mics like lavalier mics and shotgun style camera mics.

[0.145 lb] I used this for audio, to replace a lost stereo microphone cable. It is super robust and great quality construction. and much cheaper than buying one from the microphone manufacturer.

[Black] B and H got me this cable quick, and on the shoot. I needed it for a boom pole and it worked perfect. The Cable ends are tight, not cheap stuff, made great like it should be.

[Black] Obviously a quality piece of gear that fully meets my expectations of Remote Audio.

[Black] Perhaps not initially intended for this purpose, i am using for a mid side recording set up in a wind screen blimp and piggy packing two small diaphragm mics, and using the matching 5pin smaller breakaway.

[0.145 lb] So glad I was able to find this adapter. I use it for an unconventional purpose (to send my stereo contact mics into a preamp) but it work very well. I give it 5 stars just for existing.

[0.145 lb] Short and sweet. I used this to go into a field recorder from a Rode Wireless Pro. It's a true 2-channel, not just a splitter; I know that can be misleading with some potential guitar pedal Y-cables...

[0.145 lb] As in the headline this adapter works exactly as I expected and is perfect for my needs. I needed a better way (I had a kluge) to connect my Sennheiser MKE 440 mic to my Sony XA2000 camcorder, going from the 3.5mm plug on the mic to the XLR jacks on the camcorder. It's definitely more compact than the kluge I had and is working perfectly.
