Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the flash come with a stand for off camera situations?

A: Yes, it comes with a hot shoe stand

Q: 2. B&H's description of flash GN makes it hard to compare flashes. For example, one flash will have a GN of 131 at 105mm and another a GN of 197 at 200mm (ISO 100 in both cases). Which is more powerful? B&H Explora offers no guidances on this issue. B&H should standardize GN specs so shoppers can make a proper comparison.

A: Nissin includes the i60A Guide Number information below in the product manual. Please note the guide numbers below represent the distance in meters. Flash Zoom - Guide No at Full Power (meters) 24mm - GN 27, 28mm - GN 29, 35mm - GN 32, 50mm - GN 39, 70mm - GN 42, 85mm - GN 45, 105mm - GN 50, 135mm - GN 54, 200mm - GN 60

Q: 3. Is the Nissin i60A Flash compatible with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ300 camera, in ALL modes of operation. And if compatible, what is the Maximum Flash Sync Speed with the i60A and the above referenced camera ?

A: Hi Steve. It's compatible with the FZ300 which is a good thing since the popup flash of this camera is such a joke! I used to have the FZ200 and the flash on that camera was much better. Obviously the i60A tops all ... I've tested the FZ300-i60A using these FZ300 modes: IA, IA+, P, A, S, M using the i60A's TTL mode, and I'm very happy with the results. I have lots more testing to do using different setting combinations that I'll do over time. Don't know about the maximum flash sync speed info though.

Q: 4. Where the nissin i60a made from? There other seller with item made from china. What is the difference between those same item (Nissin i60a) coming from different countries?

A: It is made in China. A great flash, very well made and compact, I can say it is better than the original Fuji flashes. Very easy to use. I bought it to use many flashes off camera with the air system.

Q: 5. how do you activate HSS on camera flash with a Sony A7III?

A: HSS is activated on the flash directly.

Q: 6. Can i mount this flash direct on hot shoe of Sony A7RII to shoot with High speed sync ?

A: Yes. You will need to activate the HSS on the flash once mounted on the Sony Camera.

Q: 7. Will the same unit work with Olympus mft and fujifilm x ? Are this unit cross compatible?

A: You need to use the Fuji Nissin flashes with Fuji cameras and the Nissin MFT flashes for Olympus. We list compatibility charts on the product page.

Q: 8. I know the air commander for Fuji s available now, and it claims to support HSS for Fuji. But the this flash unit (i60A) still does not yet support HSS for Fuji. True?

A: This is a very good question. At this time the Air 1 Commander does not support HSS on Fuji Models, nor does the i60A for Fujifilm cameras support HSS at this time. The protocols for Fujifilm HSS have not been released at this time. All versions other than Fuji do support HSS at this time. Some information has been erroneously reported about the HSS for Fujifilm at this time. When/if the Air 1 Commander and i60A for Fujifilm begin to support HSS, Nissin Digital will make an announcement about it.I hope this clarifies the situation for you.

Q: 9. I'm bought the Nissin i60a for my Sony a7iii but I can only shoot at 1/250 - what am I doing wrong?

A: Hi Jim, Are you trying to shoot faster, or slower? Or are you saying that you are stuck shooting at 1/250?

Q: 10. Does it have the same same (ultra soft, lousy adjustment dial) as the i40 A flash?or does it have a positive and firm clicks adjustment dial.

A: As this is still a brand new item, this information has not yet been made available. Please check back as we continue to update our information.

[0 to +90°] Used on my Fuji X-T2 with grip and 16-55 mm f/2.8 lens, the entire set-up balances well and is still significantly smaller and lighter than my comparable Canon full frame set-up. The flash seems to be plenty powerful and recycles quickly. The build quality of the unit is very good, and the flash itself is very easy to use. I think it's a versatile piece of gear that in some ways is even better than Fuji's own flagship flash. Time will tell how it holds up, but it has a 2 year warranty so that's an added bonus.

[Yes] The i60A speed light is a perfectly sized flash for my Sony Alpha camera. It's incredibly reliable and is capable of firing several flashes without needing a long while to rest/cool down. It is built tough and has an extremely user-friendly interface. Solid A+ here.

[4x AA] Totally please with this flash. As others have said, it is a little workhorse. Use it mostly for candids and fill. The size is perfect for my X-T2. TTL works flawlessly and I understand a firmware update is in the works for HSS, though that function is not essential for me. I am using rechargables and I have been really impressed with the battery life. Looking forward to picking up an Air 1 Commander soon.

[Video Light] I use this flash in on the Sony A7RII. It is ideal in size and power for this camera. Easy to use, fully TTL functional for Sony. Really simple in operation. Easy also to use in combination with the Nissin Air 1 commander as radio controlled off shoe flash or in a multiflash configuration with Air 1 receivers.

[8] Integrates perfectly with my Fujifilm GFX 50s and X100F. Downside is it's on-camera only. Can't wait for the wireless remote to become available so I can use it TTL off-camera.

[4x AA] This flash is sized perfectly for my Fuji X-T1. It's a powerful flash that will meet my casual hobby photographic needs. The rear controls are simple but effective in controlling the power of the unit. The bounce adjustments are excellent and cover all desired angles. I've attached three indoor rooms shots all using the bounce flash feature.

[0 to +90°] Purchased 8/15/17 - had the HSS firmware update. Tested out HSS on XPro 2 work great. Flash seems well built, use it in manual mode mostly been fine. The controls on back of flash easy to use & see in low light, swivel & tilt range of flash head excellent for bouncing needs. I wish the i40 was built this exact same way,
