[0.1 lb] Makes finding the shutter release more intuitive. It also makes the release much more precise. If you don't have one...get one! You won't be sorry. Yeah I know, they're $75. That's not even an evening out with the wife and children.

[0.1 lb] Works well but it is expensive. It is Leica. Just check tightness frequently.

[Threaded Screw] Jeez its a button how hard can it be to get it to work.

[Threaded Screw] I have looked at several types of soft release buttons for a while now and in the end, I got the red dot soft release made by Leica.

It costs a few dollars more than some other brands, but it gives me peace of mind knowing that the thread pitch is correct and that it won't damage the threads in my shutter release button on my M10 Monochrom and M-P 240.

The red and white enamel finish is beautiful; it is made with a very high level of craftsmanship, just like Leica cameras and lenses. It is the obvious choice for any M camera user.

[0.1 lb] Why a soft release? From the moment I started using one years ago, I was hooked. I just find it much more comfortable than to go without one.

Now on to this Leica model. Yes, I realize that these soft releases are laughably expensive for what they are. But the cheap ones I've used would always find a way to work themselves off, no matter if I used a rubber washer or not.

So, unhappy with the performance of the bargain priced buttons I've always used in the past, I begrudgingly parted with my money and gave this OEM button a try on my M11.

This is the first time I've had a soft release where I didn't immediately start wishing it were designed differently. The simple M is unobtrusive and sleek, not attention-grabbing and conspicuous. And it screwed on tightly and securely, and the knurling around the edge really makes a difference. Honestly, even without a rubber washer, it is tighter and more secure than any other brand I've tried.

Ultimately, I finally feel like I've found my forever soft release. Thus, the high price might actually be a wash, considering my never-ending search among the cheaper brands.

[Threaded Screw] A little pricey but it is worth it to put on the shutter release

[Threaded Screw] As another reviewer wrote, it doesn't quite line up parallel with the camera. Seems the silver one and the 100th anniversary (no longer available) do a better job of it. Little to complain about; it performs its simple task and looks cool doing it.
BTW, the female threaded silver backing allows it to be used as a lapel pin--why anyone would use it as such, escapes me. That's why it's included.

[0.1 lb] I have only shot about a dozen photographs with the soft release on Leica M8 but I love it. For the moment my fastest M lens is a Summicron therefore I need to shoot at high ISO and low shutter speeds during late night shoots. The soft release is a great help in such conditions. The build quality is good but could have been better considering the price.

[0.1 lb] The button is much more comfortable than the standard shutter release. It looks great on the camera too. It may seem a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I have a cheap plastic release button on my Fujifilm cameras and you can tell the difference right away. For long days shooting this button is great.
