Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How wide is are the tripod legs when extended? (i.e., how much floor space does this take up?)

A: According to Latch Lake web page: Tripod Base Our patent pending Symmetric Torque Tripod base features all new folding solid core legs giving you the distinctive stability all micKings are known for with a portable touch. This base enables a breakdown size of just under three feet. That's all I could find, you may want to call them: Latch Lake phone #: 1-800-428-2437

Q: 2. Is this stand compatible with the Scarlett CM25 MkIII Microphone stand attachment?

A: Yes it is.

Q: 3. I purchased the QuickLok MP892 mic clip as it is listed as a recommended accessory. It does not fit however. What mic clip fits this stand?

A: The On-Stage MY251 (B&H#ONMY251) works well with DS7200B round base desktop microphone stand.

Q: 4. Will this boom fit to my MS series Atlas stand ? (Large tubing with 7/8 fitting)

A: The LATCH LAKE RB2200AT boom is not compatible with Atlas Sound MS series stands given the stands are 5/8 -27 male, and the RB2200AT is 7/8 -27 Threads.

Q: 5. Is it detachable so we can use it as a boom pole?

A: Yes the boom can be removed from the stand.

Q: 6. 2 questions. What's the difference between the K&M 210/6 & 210/9 Tripod Microphone Stands, and a fixed boom comes with both? Fixed Boom is a microphone?

A: The difference is that the 210/6 has a fixed boom, and the 210/9 has a telescopic boom so it's length can be adjusted. The boom arm is the part on top of the vertical pole that allows you to position your microphone, which will be attached to the end of the boom arm.

Q: 7. Will this work with Rode VideoMicro Compact On-Camera Microphone?

A: The Rode VideoMicro does not have stand mounting capability. To mount on a stand would require a female shoe adapter and 1/4 to 5/8 thread adapter to mount on a mic stand.

Q: 8. Is it possible to angle the boom straight up in the air, if you needed more height, but wanted the option of sometimes using the boom arm?

A: Yes, the LATCH LAKE micKing 2200 Boom Microphone Stand can be used with the boom arm positioned straight up to achieve more height.

Q: 9. Does B&H sell replacement threaded nobs for this - specifically the ones that lock the boom extension segments?

A: At this time, B&H does not sell those specific replacement knobs. While you could attempt to reach out to the manufacturer about replacements, it may be easier to look for a replacement stand. Here's a suggestion, BH #AUMS5230T.

Q: 10. What is the thread size at the base? I have four bases with this thread size, but most shafts are M20. This is larger than M20.

A: The manufacturer has not specified the size of the On-Stage DS7200B base threads.

[Clamp Mechanism] Obtained this stand to support an entire Decca Tree mic set-up, and it accomplishes this task easily. I've not been worried at all about the whole thing toppling over. Easy to assemble, and clamp-like height adjusters are solidly built.

[Clamp Mechanism] This mic stand is heavy but it feels like it will last forever! We bought a couple earlier this year and just added a few more to the studio because of how reliable and sturdy they are. They seem to be able to hold just about any sort of mic or piece of equipment we've tried putting on it with no question it would remain stable and strong. Highly recommend, especially for permanent setups!
