Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you shoot down for flat lay photography or do you need an arm?

A: The tripod does not have a column that goes horizontal. The center column is reversible, facilitating low-angle photography where an attached camera is positioned among the tripod's legs instead of above them. If the object is large you will need to use a tripod arm. This is a link for some of them, https://bhpho.to/3nabqRy

Q: 2. Can you connect a mini Jib crane to this tripod?

A: This tripod has a 44 lb load capacity, which is a good amount to hold a jib. For additional help with this question feel free to email us at provideo@bhphoto.com. That way we can go over more details like the camera you have, how tall of a jib you desire and more. From there we can find the right products to fit your needs.

Q: 3. Why are there recent reviews on the Sirui W-2004 tripod?

A: The reviews are done by the public. We can't say for sure why they do or don't write a review. Sometimes no news is good news.

Q: 4. Can the keg spreader be removed?

A: Yes, the mid-level spreaders on the SmallRig AD-50Lite Lightweight Aluminum Alloy Video Tripod System can be removed.

Q: 5. which is the real folded length of PFA39B2? Benros website inform 20.3 in (51.5 cm)

A: Upon measuring it myself, i did get 13.75 when folded.

Q: 6. Where is this made? Who makes it? How is the quality? i.e. compare and contrast to the original. It's rather expensive for something that may come from China. Unless the quality is superb.

A: This tripod is really well made. I checked on the box and yes, it is made in China. But not to worry, it doesnt have the feel of a cheap tripod. I always wanted to have a Tiltall. Now that I have one, I am very happy with it. I have four other great tripods and this one is the nicest, it is a real classic. I do not know how it compares to the original one, but it is a great tripod and worth the price tag. It is so nice that it is almost a collector item.

Q: 7. Head Type is Fluid Head?

A: While the SmallRig AD-50Lite Lightweight Aluminum Alloy Video Tripod System does have a video style head with a fixed damping system, SmallRig does not state that the internal system is fluid based.

Q: 8. Can I modify this to use a gimbal head?

A: The head of this tripod is not removable. You could attach a head via the 1/4 -20 top screw (use these bushings if the gimbal has a 3/8-16. Manfrotto 148KN Reducing Bushing Set - 3/8 -16 to 1/4 -20 (Set of 5) B&H # MA148KN. However, I would not truly recommend this and only do so if no other alternative was available.

Q: 9. Can I buy just the tripod head or individual parts of the head? Thanks, Eliza

A: My answer is no, you cant just buy the head.

Q: 10. what is a good tripod for hiking wildlife?

A: The W-2004 is an excellent choice. It is waterproof & very solid. It is also available with a K-20 ball head at a special kit price. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1390041-REG/sirui_suw2004k20_w2004_aluminum_tripod_with.html

[Yes, Round] I have worked with this Tiltall Tripod for over 30 years.
I just bought the same model brand new - it is top shelf.
This is a great sturdy and easy to work with tripod.

[Aluminum] I've used my Tiltall tripod for many years and it has never failed to work well. It's still in great shape with only one small ding. It has great nostalgia value as I used this tripod for my master's thesis in photography all those years ago. Highly recommended!

[Yes, Round] This is probably the most stable, solid tripod I've ever used. It handles everything I've thrown at it including a super-telephoto (Z9 w/ 800mm PF). For the big stuff, I did make one change by replacing the 3-way head with a headless center tube and a gimbal head. I still use the 3-way for lighter loads. It was worth it to me to have the solid, stable base this tripod provides and the flexibility of the alternative center tube. The retractable spikes in the feet are a great bonus and greatly enhance the stability in certain circumstance.

RECOMMENDED.

[Aluminum] Wanted this simple, yet extremely functional tripod since I was a teenager, but did not have funds to splurge. Now that I'm a senior citizen and using a 160-600 telephoto lens, this tripod is perfect. It's weight is worth it, giving me the stability I've needed. Nothing flashy. A design that has changed little in over 50 years, because it didn't have to. The carrying case is a nice touch.

[Yes, Round] First off, contrary to some of the other reviews and answers, nearly everything on this tripod is metal, except for the obvious places like end caps and bearings that are either rubber or plastic, as they should be.
I bought the Tiltall because I was fed up with the poor build quality on the various tripods that I own, some of them Sliks. Even though they are highly recommended, I still had plastic parts snap off and become worn out with little use. And don't get me started on the quick connects that are more trouble than their worth, not to mention they make the tripod unusable if you lose them.
Sure the Tiltall is heavier, but I'd rather deal with that than a broken piece that forces work arounds. Every piece is precision made and moves smoothly, locking down with minimal force.
One piece that persistently breaks on competitor's models is the crank handle for the vertical adjustment. There is no crank on the Tiltall, the Z axis adjustment is accomplished by pulling or pushing instead, which works just fine for me since the lock downs can be tightened or loosened just enough to temporarily hold while you find the right position when you can then tighten it more securely.
A feature this tripod has that my Sliks don't are spikes that can be extruded from the bottom of the legs by twisting a ring there. This is great if you're on slippery, uneven ground; the spikes dig in perfectly.
The carrying case that comes with it protects it snugly and has a shoulder strap that makes it easier to transport off site. It even has pockets for the odd bit of gear.

Overall, this is a tripod that is built to last a lifetime and then some. I just wish I could have bought it earlier instead of wasting my money on tripods that are cheaper, and that are touted in other reviews.

[4] The Tiltall TE is heavy and big. It doesn't do a myriad of different things and it takes time to set it up. It is also beautifully well made, smooth to operate and incredibly stable. I like knowing my heavy, expensive, camera gear will work best with this beauty.

[3 Positions] I own three of these. I bought two, one silver, one gold. My introduction to this tripod was as a college, photo student back in the late 60's. I loved them. Read the other comments for itemized details and performance. I purchased two about eight years ago. I was amazed that the company still existed! The third tripod was given to me when an uncle, a professional photographer back in the 50's, passed away about 15 years ago. It was worn and showed some heavy usage but was totally functional. I replaced the rubber pad on the top where you mount your camera, but that was it. This model, regardless of color finish, will not let you down.

[Aluminum] I love the classic design of this very sturdy tripod. The functionality is perfect. Very good materials and workmanship. The product picture is outdated. The actual product has redesigned simpler knobs and the leg that transforms into monopod has a black grip. Special care should be put in the gold finish since it can get easily scratched. I believe is a great option for a tripod that will last many years.
