Q: 1. I am going on an Alaskan cruise through the Interior Passage. Four ports. Helicoper ride/dog sled run. Canon 5d Mark IV. Heaviest lens 24-105. Do you think this will work as a general lightweight all-around? Senior lady who wants an easy way to take photos without shaking using different lens. Thank you!

A: One of the great advantages of today's digital cameras is the very high ISO ratings they have. With these high ISO's, you can shoot at a commensurate high shutter speed. Shooting at 1000, 2000, 3000 shutter speed should negate mild and even moderate shake. Of course, if you have a muscular condition that creates more than a moderate shake, then yes, I think this is a good suggestion. It is light, compact even with the three little legs. It will be good even on board ship. Of course, you will not need it for the helicopter or dog sled. I would also recommend a monopod head. This will allow tilt up and down while the monopod is up and down with the legs deployed. Here is a affordable one: Oben VH-R2 Tilt Head for Monopods B&H # OBVHR2. Here is a mid level quality example: Induro TH2 Tilt Head for Monopods B&H # INTH2. Both of these heads have Arca-Swiss type quick releases. That is to say, the included quick release is a desirable industry standard which allows instant on and off the head. Have fun and don't take any wooden pictures.

Q: 2. can this also be used, successfully, as a walking stick?

A: The has a maximum load capacity of Oben CTM-2500 5-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod. This monopod is not designed with usage as a walking stick in mind. That being said, if you are only using the monopod to assist with slight stability needs and you are not placing full weight on the monopod, it may work for your usage needs. That being said, you may wish to purchase the Magnus MHA-01 Monopod Handle Adapter, B&H # MAMHA01, for better grip for your usage needs.

Q: 3. does the ctm-2500 have 3 legs/feet that fold out at the bottom so it can stand on its own? thanks.

A: Nope. It's a monopod - One leg only.

Q: 4. What is the head plate diameter?

A: The base mount on the Sirui P-424FL 4-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod is 60mm. Please be aware that this does not affect the stability of the head, if the head has a smaller or larger diameter.

Q: 5. Can anyone measure the diameter of the smallest leg section ? Thanks

A: The diameter of the rod at the last (smallest section) is 3/4 inch. The rubber foot on the end of that rod is 7/8 inch in diameter.

Q: 6. When the feet are folded upwards, do they lock in that position or otherwise stay up?

A: There is a lock on the Sirui P-325FL 5-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod that secures them downward. When they are lifted upward, there is no lock, but there is enough friction that they stay upward easily.

Q: 7. What is the weight of the removable legs/fee assembly?

A: The weight of the moonopod without the foot on the Sirui P-424FL 4-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod is 1.70 lb. The foot is 1.4lb.

Q: 8. Is Oben's QRA-R2 Quick Release Assembly compatible with The Manfrotto 200PL Quick Release Plate with 1/4 -20 Screw and 3/8 Bushing Adapter is the replacement quick release plate for all heads that use the RC2 (3157N)

A: Unfortunately no, they are not compatible. They appear similar but are of different designs and dimensions.

Q: 9. The second pic, how does the monopod single leg extend from the 3 leg base? It's manually attached or?

A: Please look at the rubber twist lock. Turn that and a leg extends from inside the mini tripod ring.

Q: 10. What is the folded length with the legs removed?

A: The folded length of the Sirui P-325FL 5-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod with the legs removed is 19".

[4] .I use this monopod with a FLM CB-32 F Ball Head and RRS B2-LR II Q-R Clamp to provide support for my heaviest telephoto when I am on the move and don't need full tripod support. It doubles as a sturdy walking stick when the camera is not attached, I have only used it without the short tripod legs to keep weight to a minimum while hiking. The twist lock legs provide a secure lock which have never collapsed and operate smooth and precise. I highly recommend this monopod if you need a working height up to 63.8

[Twist Lock] Two years ago, I had to sell my previous monopod, of the Gitzo brand, due to my financial problems, so I recently sought to purchase this less-costly alternative as a replacement. If the Gitzo products are truly of the high quality they seem to be, then this Tiltall monopod is certainly a match! The materials are all well formed and finished. The monopod arrived inside a thick plastic bag, with that inside the carrying case, and then the outer cardboard box. Included is a very nice instructional booklet (pictures, diagrams, specs, clear text) and a wrench. The foot screws out/in to conceal/reveal the spike. This monopod is attractive and would look good if used at formal occasions. The moving parts all work smoothly and properly. This is tall monopod, and, of course, it is as light as a feather when extended, yet very stiff, just as it should be. All-in-all, I'm pleased to be using it with high confidence, and I wanted to write this review to offer a recommendation.

[Carbon Fiber] This Monopod is everything; the very best. It almost replaces my tripod. Sturdy, well designed - love the detachable feet and how the head pops on and off. Light weight, small for transport. Great for even my 600mm lens!!! I carry it everywhere with me. Very Happy!!!

[3.7 lb] Photographer friend and colleague let me use theirs during an event we were shooting. Fantastic! Fully holds camera body (I have DSLR still) with battery pack, 70-200mm and speedlight without worry! Could stand on it's own without falling over! Purchased one in time to use for 2nd shooting a wedding and it allowed me to get a variety of shots without having multiple bodies strapped to me and less hassle than dragging around a tripod. Monopod itself is surprisingly light for the amount it can support.
