[Telescoping] We do a lot of interviews for our documentaries and this mic stand is just the ticket. Strong, sturdy and sensibly designed, it gives me a lot of confidence when we set up that at least we don't have to worry about it. Once you handle it and set it up, you'll know why it cost a little more. My son is always telling me to buy nice or buy twice. I'm sure this stand will be around for a few generations. It's well worth the investment.

[Telescoping] Obtained this stand to support an entire Decca Tree mic set-up, and it accomplishes this task easily. I've not been worried at all about the whole thing toppling over. Easy to assemble, and clamp-like height adjusters are solidly built.

[Black] I didn't know that mic stands like this existed. It is solid. It will last my lifetime. I will buy more.

[Telescoping] Heavy. Thick bars. Highest quality. Easy to modify arms. Made in USA. Best mic stand on the market. Be prepared to be wowed!

[Telescoping] This mic stand is heavy but it feels like it will last forever! We bought a couple earlier this year and just added a few more to the studio because of how reliable and sturdy they are. They seem to be able to hold just about any sort of mic or piece of equipment we've tried putting on it with no question it would remain stable and strong. Highly recommend, especially for permanent setups!

[Black] All whining aside, THESE DO THE JOB. The stock items on most mic stands DON’T and simply pale in comparison. Due to thickness and diameter, these can be gripped and tightened / loosened by hand much more effectively than the “lesser” substitutes. I have tooled up to replace almost all of my stock mic stand jam nuts with these. At first, it hurt the wallet a bit. Now, that cost has been more than paid in increased serenity.

Along the way, I developed an axiom: “Friends don’t let friends use $#!++y mic stands”. I’ve amended that to include $#!++y jam nuts.

[Telescoping] This boom stand is super stable, very adjustable, sturdy, solid, well built and yes, it will collapse down to a more convenient package for travel when compared to other large studio mic stands.
I was really tired of using boom mics on stages when they are required to reach to their fullest extension, because, you know, they get knocked over, even when folks are careful. So I have a pile of sand bags to keep the Atlas and K&M boom stands stable. But what about the vocal mic for the pianist at the grand piano?---there are not many boom stand options that can actually reach the vocalist who is playing piano and at the same time get the heck out of the way. The Latch Lake MicKing 1100 sure can.
This is a mic stand you acquire for an entire career. It is everything you wish your other boom stands would be, and there are a lot of other nice boom stands, but this one is better.
Caveat: it is heavy. A big full of these? Ummm... not so much. Do not expect to easily travel with more than a couple of the MicKing 1100 stands. These should be used in tandem with a variety of other more light weight stands for on stage, reserving the 1100 for special tasks, like drum over head, vocal mic for a pianist, for use of a larger, heavy microphone and that sort of thing.
And yes, absolutely yes, the MicKing 1100 is an excellent studio choice as well. In fact, for my preference, this style mic stand is better than the large studio stands with wheels.

[Boom Stand] I would be very confident in putting virtually any mic on this stand... it may even be able to hold a DSLR-type camera (*note: have not tried, try at your own risk) The latch adjustment system is secure, swift & honestly is. a bit of a game-changer if coming from a conventional stand. If this stand is in the budget, this is great for a large tube mic or a shotgun hanging above an interview set or drum kit. A must-have for any collection; Two thumbs up.

[Telescoping] These work well and are a great addition to a mic stand that might be missing the locking nut. The large size is helpful to get some torque on the mic stand and mic adapter.
