Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the 86 extension refer to the entire boom length, or just that part extending from the pivot point?

A: Its the entire length of the boom (Including the foam grip at the end), not just the part that extends from the pivot point.

Q: 2. Can I change the spigot on this boom?

A: Its not user replaceable

Q: 3. Will this boom work with a Impact Heavy-Duty Air-Cushioned Light Stand (Black, 9.5')?

A: You shouldn't have have any issues.. Given the stand has a max weight of 22lbs, I would absolutely have a couple of sandbags on the legs..

Q: 4. Can you attach a camera to the end of this boom arm?

A: Not as it comes, but there might be adapters for that.

Q: 5. What is the smallest possible length this boom arm can be broken down into, including is pieces if necessary?

A: The Boom Arms minimum length is 48 from the post to the counter weight hook at the rear. This is a very heavy unit and I would recommend that it be supported by a very sturdy stand.

Q: 6. Is it possible to angle the boom straight up in the air, if you needed more height, but wanted the option of sometimes using the boom arm?

A: Yes, the LATCH LAKE micKing 2200 Boom Microphone Stand can be used with the boom arm positioned straight up to achieve more height.

Q: 7. Can I attach a bowen mount to this?

A: A Bowens monolight can attach via its stand adapter to the 5/8" stud on the end of this boom.

Q: 8. Will this boom fit to my MS series Atlas stand ? (Large tubing with 7/8 fitting)

A: The LATCH LAKE RB2200AT boom is not compatible with Atlas Sound MS series stands given the stands are 5/8 -27 male, and the RB2200AT is 7/8 -27 Threads.

Q: 9. How much weight can this boom arm support with some extension and inclination? I would like to lift an Elinchrom ELC Pro HD 1000 light and a light modifier above my subject's head and would like to know if this boom arm can support the light whilst inclined and extended. Thanks!

A: If you ad a weight to the back of the boom arm, it should hold the light.

Q: 10. Does the baby pin receiver fit into a junior receiver on a combo stand? It looks like it should but isn’t mentioned in the specs.

A: Yes the outer portion of the receiver on this boom will fit a junior receiver.

[1.5 lb] Heavy. Thick bars. Highest quality. Easy to modify arms. Made in USA. Best mic stand on the market. Be prepared to be wowed!

[Chrome ] I have owned stands from K&M and Triad Orbit. K&M best stand did not last long and while in use wiggled too much. Triad tries to do many things and as a result, is not great at anything and to boot is frustrating to use.
Latch Lake is much more stable and easier to use, as it is specifically built as a Microphone stand. It is just a joy to work with and I get more stable and much better recordings with it.

[5/8"-27 Male] I recently bought an AEA R44 which is a HEAVY mic. Online forums recommended stands by Latch Lake. Well worth the price. i did some tests of the stand prior to use and it's solid as a rock! And the folks at B and H were of course solid professionals as always!

[5/8"-27 Male] This mic stand is heavy but it feels like it will last forever! We bought a couple earlier this year and just added a few more to the studio because of how reliable and sturdy they are. They seem to be able to hold just about any sort of mic or piece of equipment we've tried putting on it with no question it would remain stable and strong. Highly recommend, especially for permanent setups!

[Chrome ] This stand is just at a completely different level of polish than any other I've used. The clamping mechanisms are intense and solid - and highly adjustable - and the base ensures that it feels really secure. My only issue so far is getting a feel for how tight to adjust the various clamps, since I don't want to overtighten anything. But having used this stand, I don't know how I would go back to anything else...

[Chrome ] As a guitarist I had bought several pieces to hold my iPhones and iPads satisfy my needs, but none worked as best as this one. Now I switch between my iPhone and iPad pro without any issues and become more productive.
Thanks

[Chrome ] We do a lot of interviews for our documentaries and this mic stand is just the ticket. Strong, sturdy and sensibly designed, it gives me a lot of confidence when we set up that at least we don't have to worry about it. Once you handle it and set it up, you'll know why it cost a little more. My son is always telling me to buy nice or buy twice. I'm sure this stand will be around for a few generations. It's well worth the investment.
