It comes equipped with a 1/4"-20 screw to attach to your gear, which is mounted on a groove so you can adjust the position of your camera relative to the plate. [1x 1/4"-20 Male] This device made mounting My DC-S1R to this small tabletop tripod as easy as pie. It simply screwed, very securely, into the bottom of my camera. When the camera, the 50mm 1.4, and the battery grip were in place on the tripod, the plate held all of this weight with no malfunctions. When the equipment was removed, the plate was intact, without any failure or malformation This plate and it's legs were outstanding, enabling me to do my ground level macro photography without a hitch.
