Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How much weight can this boom arm support with some extension and inclination? I would like to lift an Elinchrom ELC Pro HD 1000 light and a light modifier above my subject's head and would like to know if this boom arm can support the light whilst inclined and extended. Thanks!

A: If you ad a weight to the back of the boom arm, it should hold the light.

Q: 2. Suggested use shows this being used at only a short distance. When using at longer distances, would this be better used in a combo stand? Can you recommend one?

A: A combo stand such as the Matthews Hollywood Combo Double Riser Stand (Silver, 11.3'), BH # MALSCHWD would work well with this boom at longer distances. https://bhpho.to/3agUns6

Q: 3. How wide is are the tripod legs when extended? (i.e., how much floor space does this take up?)

A: According to Latch Lake web page: Tripod Base Our patent pending Symmetric Torque Tripod base features all new folding solid core legs giving you the distinctive stability all micKings are known for with a portable touch. This base enables a breakdown size of just under three feet. That's all I could find, you may want to call them: Latch Lake phone #: 1-800-428-2437

Q: 4. Does this boom come with counter weight ? If so, what type ?

A: The LATCH LAKE RB2200 micKing RetroBoom Telescoping Boom Arm features a 7 LBS counterweight.

Q: 5. Can or how can I attach a DSLR on this?

A: Not directly. You'll need some kind of adapter from the 5/8 fitting to perhaps some kind of quick release adapter like Arca-swiss. Talk to the folks at Hejnar Photo they make a lot of fit-this-to-that type of adapters.

Q: 6. Does it come with just the boom arm or does it also include the pivot clamp as well?

A: Yes it does

Q: 7. What is the smallest possible length this boom arm can be broken down into, including is pieces if necessary?

A: The Boom Arms minimum length is 48 from the post to the counter weight hook at the rear. This is a very heavy unit and I would recommend that it be supported by a very sturdy stand.

Q: 8. Will this boom fit to my MS series Atlas stand ? (Large tubing with 7/8 fitting)

A: The LATCH LAKE RB2200AT boom is not compatible with Atlas Sound MS series stands given the stands are 5/8 -27 male, and the RB2200AT is 7/8 -27 Threads.

Q: 9. Can you attach a camera to the end of this boom arm?

A: Not as it comes, but there might be adapters for that.

Q: 10. How much weight can this hold?

A: The load capacity at the maximum extension is 8 lbs.

[5/8"-27 Male] Latch Lake is simply the best. You should be aware however that if you order this arm to be mounted on a non-Latch Lake stand, you will need to also purchase the "thread extender." It will be useless without it.

[5/8"-27 Male] We do a lot of interviews for our documentaries and this mic stand is just the ticket. Strong, sturdy and sensibly designed, it gives me a lot of confidence when we set up that at least we don't have to worry about it. Once you handle it and set it up, you'll know why it cost a little more. My son is always telling me to buy nice or buy twice. I'm sure this stand will be around for a few generations. It's well worth the investment.

[5/8"-27 Male] As a guitarist I had bought several pieces to hold my iPhones and iPads satisfy my needs, but none worked as best as this one. Now I switch between my iPhone and iPad pro without any issues and become more productive.
Thanks
