Q: 1. How wide is are the tripod legs when extended? (i.e., how much floor space does this take up?)

A: According to Latch Lake web page: Tripod Base Our patent pending Symmetric Torque Tripod base features all new folding solid core legs giving you the distinctive stability all micKings are known for with a portable touch. This base enables a breakdown size of just under three feet. That's all I could find, you may want to call them: Latch Lake phone #: 1-800-428-2437

Q: 2. What is the minimum and maximum length between the pivot point/clamp and the mic thread?

A: The Atlas Sound PB21XEB boom arm extends from a minimum length of 25.25" to a maximum length of 38.50".

Q: 3. What stand should I use with this boom arm? I have an Atlas Sound MS-43E which is pretty stable, 8-lb base, but is it enough when used with Shure BLX24?

A: You can use your Atlas MS-43E mic stand with this boom arm and a Shure BLX2 handheld wireless mic transmitter (which is the transmitter for BLX24 system). The MS-43E can support the weight of the boom arm and the mic.

Q: 4. What is the thread size? What is the depth of of the female thread?

A: The only female thread on this item is that of the screw-down mechanism (thumb screw) mentioned in the overview and clearly pictured. Those threads are M6x1.0 and about 17mm deep. They extend to the large central hole at the center of the cylinder but the end of the thumb screw does not bear directly against the boom arm. It instead bears against a plastic liner pressed into that central hole which prevents scratching the finish of the boom arm.

Q: 5. Is it possible to angle the boom straight up in the air, if you needed more height, but wanted the option of sometimes using the boom arm?

A: Yes, the LATCH LAKE micKing 2200 Boom Microphone Stand can be used with the boom arm positioned straight up to achieve more height.

Q: 6. what is the warranty for this item?

A: The S3 Zoom boom arm has a limited 2-year warranty from Thronmax.

Q: 7. What boom arm or pole is recommended for this Kupo Pivoting boom arm clamp? The Kupo steel baby boom does not fit in the opening of the kapok arm clamp.

A: HI,Kupo pivoting clamp is constructed by solid aluminum die-casting &plastic cardboard insert which can fit a wider tubing size from3035mm diameter boom. With 1-1/8 ( 28mm) male pin and 5/8 (16mm) female receiver, the attachment of clamp can fit into juniorreceiver or mount on baby pin which gives great flexibility andadjustment.Look at using Kupo C-Stand Columns.Chrome plated steel C-Stand tube2 risers, 3 sections(Dia.: 35mm, 30mm, 25mm)I hope this helps.Regards,Will HBrand Manager Lighting, Mac Group US

Q: 8. Can I use two K&M 21105 counterweights on the same boom arm? Is there a hole at both ends to allow for this?

A: yes. I am using 2 on one arm. and there is another trick. if your arms are just a bit thick, you can pop out the plastic liner. I like these, it's hard to find good counterweights these days.

Q: 9. What is the maximum reach of the boom? Maximum recommended mic weight? Can you add your own XLR cable to the boom internally?

A: Hi, Yes, you can add your own cable, maximum weight 2.1 lbs and the maximum reach is approximately 36 inches. Thank you for shopping at B&H!

[1.75 lb] I would be very confident in putting virtually any mic on this stand... it may even be able to hold a DSLR-type camera (*note: have not tried, try at your own risk) The latch adjustment system is secure, swift & honestly is. a bit of a game-changer if coming from a conventional stand. If this stand is in the budget, this is great for a large tube mic or a shotgun hanging above an interview set or drum kit. A must-have for any collection; Two thumbs up.

[1.75 lb] I have owned stands from K&M and Triad Orbit. K&M best stand did not last long and while in use wiggled too much. Triad tries to do many things and as a result, is not great at anything and to boot is frustrating to use.
Latch Lake is much more stable and easier to use, as it is specifically built as a Microphone stand. It is just a joy to work with and I get more stable and much better recordings with it.

[1.75 lb] We do a lot of interviews for our documentaries and this mic stand is just the ticket. Strong, sturdy and sensibly designed, it gives me a lot of confidence when we set up that at least we don't have to worry about it. Once you handle it and set it up, you'll know why it cost a little more. My son is always telling me to buy nice or buy twice. I'm sure this stand will be around for a few generations. It's well worth the investment.

[1.75 lb] Latch Lake is simply the best. You should be aware however that if you order this arm to be mounted on a non-Latch Lake stand, you will need to also purchase the "thread extender." It will be useless without it.

[Chrome ] This mic stand is heavy but it feels like it will last forever! We bought a couple earlier this year and just added a few more to the studio because of how reliable and sturdy they are. They seem to be able to hold just about any sort of mic or piece of equipment we've tried putting on it with no question it would remain stable and strong. Highly recommend, especially for permanent setups!

[1.75 lb] As a guitarist I had bought several pieces to hold my iPhones and iPads satisfy my needs, but none worked as best as this one. Now I switch between my iPhone and iPad pro without any issues and become more productive.
Thanks
