A: The images have been updated. They show the FS7 with a V lock battery. There should be plenty of room for a radio mic.

A: My FS7II came with a cover plate that was held in place by 2 small screws. I had to remove this cover before I could install the the stock handle (with zoom/record controls and the 15mm rod for attaching the viewfinder and mic holder), so putting the plate back should keep out the dust.

Q: 3. I bought the Porta Brace RS-FS7 Rain Slicker for my Sony PXW-FS7 but it does not fit. It is too big and too complicated due to the many Velcro pieces that do not line up. Has anyone found a better fitting rain cover that is quicker and easier to fit?

A: I use the extension unit with a brick battery attached so it fits fine for me. I could see how it would be loose without that stuff. The only issue I had was trying to attach the control handle the best way possible. The only other slicker I've heard of is made by Camrade. I'm sure there are reviews out there somewhere. A: We shoot handheld in a lot of rainy weather and it works well. Porta Brace works better than the other rain covers available. It's not 100 percent rain tight but it will work better than anything you can find. Alaska is really wet. It should provide the best protection.
