Q: 1. How does the archival quality of Hahnemuhle Baryta FB compare to Hahnemuhle Fine Art Baryta?

A: Not sure how to answer that, but the non FB is a better paper for me. The FB has a slight magenta cast. The Fine Art Baryta is very very nice. I havd always used Canson or Ilford for Baryta until I tried these 2 papers. The Hahnamuhle Fina Art Baryta is slightly more expensive than the FB, but the surface is slightly textured and the color rendition is fantastic. I would be confident that both papers are as archival as the manufacturer can make them. Don't worry. Just make great prints.

A: I use a Canon IPF 8100 and the blacks are amazing! I have tried other papers but none compare with the richness and neutral tonality. I have used this paper exclusively since 2007. Hope this helps.

But the paper in question is Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Book & Album paper (Short Grain, 8.5 x 11"), which is clearly described as "Double-Sided" and that means both sides can be printed. And to my personal knowledge it can be printed on both sides. That's why it's a good "Book" paper. The answer to the question is "Yes".

Q: 5. When I opened a pack of this paper I noticed the sheets are not quite flat. The edges were bent slightly upwards. Is this normal, or maybe I got expired or not stored properly pack? What is the recommended position for storage? Can it be vertical, like a book on a shelf?

A: I agree this is normal and can vary with temperature and humidity. Hahnemuhle papers are coated to better accept ink common in digital printing. Curling occurs because the substrate expands or contracts differently than does the coating. I would reserve the word emulsion to describe any light sensitive chemistry applied to paper such as silver or platinum. Some curling can be a problem if the paper catches an edge as it advances through a printer. The result can be unsightly ink blotches at the edges. My pre-print ritual includes gentle uncurling of the paper by hand and then a light brushing to remove loose particles from the surface. Always store paper flat unless you're buying rolls.
