Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have this 77mm wide adapter. Can I use it for another lens with a 67mm filter thread? Are there any step down rings by Lee?

A: I am not aware of a ring adaptor to convert 77 to 67mm. I do have a specific 67mm ring that I use on the same Lee holder that fits my 77mm lens.

Q: 2. MY Lee WA 77mm adapter ring will not screw into my new Nikon 300mm F4 E PF VR lens which I bought from B & H. It screws into my 20mm, 24-70, 16-35 and 70-200mm lenses without a problem. Does this new lens require a standard 77mm Adapter ring rather than the WA adapter ring ?

A: mine screw into 70-200mm fine, i don't have 300mm. But i actually have difficult to screw out it from my 70-200mm, so i just leave it on.

Q: 3. I have Sony RX-100 M7, will this filter ring work on this model without vignetting?

A: No , RX-100 M7 has no filter threads

Q: 4. I have a Nikon D5300 with a 52mm lens. Does the adapter ring go on my lens and then the filter holder is attached to the ring? How is the polarizer attached to the filter holder, is it magnetic or does it go in a slot?

A: Yes, the LEE Filters 52mm Wide-Angle Lens Adapter Ring for 100mm System Filter Holder, B&H # LEARWA52, included in the above LEE Filters 52mm Wide-Angle Adapter Ring with LEE100 Filter Holder would screw into the 52mm filter threads on the front of your lens. The filter holder would then attach to the filter ring. The LEE Filters LEE100 Polarizer Filter, B&H # LE100PL, would be a polarizer filter that snaps directly onto a LEE100 Filter Holder's guide blocks without occupying a filter slot. As an alternative, the LEE Filters 105mm Polarizer Ring for LEE100 Filter Holder, B&H # LE100PLR, is a snap-on adapter ring that allows you to use a polarizer filter with 105mm filter threads on the filter holder. https://bhpho.to/3ixgBNQ https://bhpho.to/3GRraET

Q: 5. I want to get this adapter and LEE filter holder. I want to use a breakthrough solid ND filter 77mm on my Canon 24-105mm lens and add a LEE graduated ND filter to the holder. Is this setup possible? Thanks in advance.

A: It could work but it's not how its meant to be used. By doing so, you will darken your scene in your viewfinder and make it difficult to align the Grad filter with the horizon in your scene. You may also introduce vignetting in the corners. Its better to use the square Lee ND and Lee Grad filters in a Lee holder which is attach to your 77mm lens via a Lee 77mm adapter ring. Then place the Grad first to balance/darken the sky with the below scene, then add a ND to make a long exposure. Depending how dark is your ND Filter is, you will need calculate the number of stops introduced to your base exposure.Hope that helps.

Q: 6. COULD A 77MM WA RING BE USED ON A CROP BODY USING A (CANON 10-22 & 24-105 LENSE ) ? THANKS IN ADVANCE RICH

A: Yes, absolutely

Q: 7. Can this filter holder be used not only for Wide Angle lenses but also for general lenses?

A: No. The following unit is designed and made for wide-angle lenses.

Q: 8. Do I have to purchase a separate adapter ring for each filter size 77mm,82mm

A: Yes you will need an adapter ring for each separate filter thread sized lens.

Q: 9. Will it cause vignetting on the 16-35 2.8L II with an 82mm adaptor ring? If so, at what focal length? Thanks,Lin

A: Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not specified which focal lengths vignette will be present, however, generally speaking, vignette begins to occur with focal lengths shorter than 24mm on a full-frame camera.

Q: 10. For a Canon 24 - 105 mm f4 lens, shall I but a 77 mm standard adapter ring or a adapter ring for wide angles? Any big difference?

A: The adapters for wide angle are thinner, therefore less likely to crop or show up in the edges/corners of the photo. This is more an issue for wide angle lenses, but if you have wide angle lenses in the 77mm size, you might consider getting the thinner adapter ring just in case. Other than that, I don't think there is any other issue.

[0.1 lb] I've become a great fan of the versatile and easy to use Lee 100 Filter System! Of course to mount any filter to a lens you need to match the size with the lens diameter. The Lee system is no different. This 77mm adaptor allows the filter holder to be easily clipped on for use with 100mm square or rectangle filters as well as a 105mm polarizer. This adaptor ring provides a well made, durable, simple and elegant solution to integrate with the Lee 100 Filter System on a lens with a 77mm filter size.

[58 mm] I was looking to get into long exposure photography and had decided that the Formatt-Hitech filter holder system was the one to invest in, but I had questions about the adapters. I called B&H's support line and immediately received great input from one of their professionals that was to the point, answered my questions and helped me complete my purchase perfectly. I love B&H.
