These 5.5mm (maximum cable OD) boots help you protect connectors and prevent them from becoming tangled messes. Additionally, they eliminate broken release or locking tabs and help maintain radius bend. The RJ-45 connectors are color coded and are made of ABS plastic. They relieve stress on cables and also cover the external ground on shielded connectors. The RJ-45 boots work on all Platinum Tools standard RJ-45 and EZ-RJ-45 connectors.

[Cat 5e] This is a terrific product. I've never owned a ratchet screwdriver before, so I was a little wary of the build quality, especially considering the price, but I'm really pleased with it. The ratcheting mechanism feels really solid, the grip is comfortable, and the rear cap isn't going anywhere. Great tool that now has a permanent place in my bag. 5

[100] Few Cat 5 cables cost $, even 50 foot cables. This one does and is worth every penny. We use a 50 cable because we move between machines with the connector, while the modem stays stationary. The cable has a thick outer covering that appears to act as superior shielding. Long cables usually lose speed; this one does not. The heavy outer sheath also decreases the tendency of the cable to tie itself in knots. The cable gets heavy use and lives up to it. 5

[6 x 4.4 x 2.1"] I carry this in my camera bag just in case I need to tighten an L Bracket or lens foot. It is a good quality tool and works great. I would recommend you get one for your kit also. 5

[RJ45] I bought a bunch of these at 3' for my tour and they've been rock solid! Everything worked as expected and they also just look very high quality. My only complaint was that B&H didn't have more in stock, but that's OK! I was able to make due with the amount I was able to get. 10/10 would recommend! 5

[0.55 lb] These are great shielded plugs for Cat6A plugs. These are the only ones I could find that work properly with 23AWG hight quality wire. Otherwise your only option is a patch panel or a keystone jack. It is definitely harder to install these than standard unshielded, cat 5E connectors but that is because the wire is thicker and still has to fit into a RJ45 plug. The connectors themselves are great. You are going to have to buy strain relief boots separately. The Platinum Tools EZRJ45 boots do not work. You will need some other oversize boots for these plugs. 5
