The Manfrotto MT190X3 Aluminum Tripod is an addition to the popular 190 series, adding a Quick Power Lock System, ground level adapter, and an Easy Link attachment. It can hold up to 33 lb of gear, and has a maximum height of 63". The ground-level adapter replaces the center column to allow the tripod's mounting plate to sit just 3.5" above the ground with the legs at their widest angle.

The QPL system allows the three leg sections to be completely extended with one hand for simple set up. An Easy Link adapter attachment allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets. Each leg can be set at four different angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain.

[26 x 5.4 x 5.4"] I purchased the 502HD Pro Video Head Kit after returning a cheaper tripod also purchased from B and H. This is the video head I was really after. The adjustable drag on both pan and tilt is fantastic. Super smooth fluid performance and the legs adjust all the way down to the ground. I use this feature constantly. The head is spring loaded to keep it from accidently tilting down and I thought this might be problematic but it adds a level of safety when you are moving fast and take your hand off the tripod handle without tightening it down. It is one of my favorite features now. The head is rather large and my little dslr setup looks funny sitting on that big plate but it's very stable and works great. I know I will use it with larger cameras in the future.

[Aluminum] I wanted to buy something really sturdy and not extremely humongous . Something that would hold this fluid head and have room for growth. I did a lot of research and checked out a lot of tripod hands-on before I elected to buy this set . I added a quick release on top of the video head and I can use it as a tripod stand for my camera as well . I also have a really good top of the line video fluid head when needed , I use it all the time at my sons games. My editing has turned into only manipulating color brightness etc. versus shake . I have looked for similar deals I don't think I can find one. On sale or not if you're looking for a great system that is not too expensive and portable this is a really good set, it It's a way better set up than to be free small tripod that have a lot of attention at the moment. The fluid head is way better and will handle most anything you put on it.

I put DSLR, iPhones, I plan to put a gimbal on it with a Quik release. I already know I can hold the weight so I am really happy with this set.

[Aluminum] i'm specifically using it for my Orion 127mm spotting scope (it is the biggest scope you can buy before you jump into a telescope, so its pretty big and heavy for a spotting scope, which was a real concern for me).

i use it to look at climbers on El Capitan in Yosemite, so it is pointing upwards at a pretty steep incline on the tripod.... i've had two different tripods and heads in the past, but this one hands down is the best one yet!! i've only used it once since i only got it a couple weeks ago, but i'm very satisfied so far... i was concerned about the weight of the scope, but it doesn't appear to be a problem... i told the sales person my situation and what i need (in respect to a tripod and head for my scope), and he immediately knew what would work.. very happy with B&H.. i've bought cameras etc from them in the past and have always been happy with their products and service.

below is a photo of my scope on my new Manfrottos 502AH video heard & MT190X3 tripod.

[Flip Lock] This is an update of the model I've been working with for the past 13 years, and there are many significant improvements. The rubber hand grip on one of the legs is much more substantial, and the height has increased by 4 inches. The levers are longer which gives you more leverage when flipping them open and shut--however the quality of these levers feels a tad more flimsy. The rubber feed pads are more robust. And best of all, the lock at the top of each leg now opens in the opposite direction, towards the tripod feet. So their much, much easier to click open and spread the legs outward. Lastly, the legs are no longer completely round, which adds strength and allows the legs to glide open with more ease.

[3] Spent a LOT of time researching tripods for video use and decided on this one. Couldn't be happier! For the price it's outstanding. Very fluid with zero sticking which was my number one worry.

[Flip Lock] This is the first time I've spent over $100 on a tripod and it's WELL worth it! Never realized you can improve the standard tripod design as well as the head until I researched it. Great deal for both the tripod and head!
