The ATEN VS1804T 4-Port HDMI over CAT5 Transmitter allows you to duplicate HDMI multimedia content and HDCP information from an input source to 4 displays in real time over CAT5e cables. This unit can be used as a one-to-many or point-to-multipoint system for transmission of high definition video and audio signals of up to 196.8’. It is suitable for use in applications such as in-store or trade show digital signage, broadcasting information to public locations, sporting events, theater and lecture overview rooms, classroom and company training facilities, etc.

It can accept and send both Analog and Digital (AES/EBU, DMX. Etc) signals in the same CAT5/6/7 Ethernet cable.

Q: 3. Can it pass-through the HDMI signal, without boosting, when its power is off?

A: The power would need to be on for the ATEN True 4K HDMI Booster BH #ATVB800 for pass-through.

Q: 4. Is Active HDMI supported or only Passive HDMI is supported?

[4.6 lb (2.1 kg)] I have this switch set up to allow me to switch between a Retina MacBook Pro and my tower gaming PC with Nvidia GTX 1070 graphics card, and it performs the job very well. Previously I had a similar setup using an IOGear DVI+USB KVM switch between MacBook Pro and my older tower PC, with just a DVI-to-DisplayPort adapter on the video cable to the Mac. For the new setup I bought a DisplayPort-to-mini-DisplayPort cable for the Mac (could have used an adapter but the cable was $10 and it's less... lumpy... this way.) I've only been using it for a week or so, but it's working great! Comes with all cables, which seem to be solid quality, and fully bus-powered - small and light but seems well made. The older IOGear DVI+USB2 switch wasn't as expensive as this when it was new, but I guess that's the price I pay for going 4K. I did my usual research on all available DisplayPort + USB switch options before selecting this one, and I'm pretty sure I made the right choice here. If you're trying to drive a 2K or 4K monitor from two DisplayPort-equipped machines and share a mouse and keyboard between them, this is the ticket. 5

[6.65 lb] Best ever remote hookup for a projector. Run a CAT5 cable from the computer in the back to the projector in the front- instant video. This was a replacement for one purchased 6 years ago, which began distorting colors. New set fixed it right up. 5
