[11.8 lb] At the price point I believe this is the best midi keyboard. It has a minimal design, without too many knobs or pads. And the keys feel great compared to other keys at this price point. Perfect for the musician who just wants the best keys possible at an attractive price point. To my knowledge there isn't anything that comes close to this at under 200. When this was made, it had all the best features. I would like them to add blue tooth, I think all midi controllers should have this now. ( That being late 2016, but at the time this was designed it was not common. ) Also you have to install the firmware to make it work correctly, which seems unnecessary. And the infrared controller is not super useful, I'd rather have an xy touch pad. While the infrared controller can work, the resolution is not great enough to be as useful as other inputs at this price point. Maybe if they replaced the sensor with a more accurate way to interact with no touch then it could be more interesting. In summary, I wish I was buying this exact version but released in 2016 with blue tooth and a more useful input than than the infrared sensor. But I'm still buying this, because there is nothing better in terms of how the keys play and feel. It has the perfect weight. And you really don't want fully weighted keys unless they are perfect. To me these keys feel perfect.

[38 x 13 x 6"] One of the best midi controllers I have ever used. I am able to control my euro rack to my computer and everything in between. Awesome

[11.8 lb] I bought this controller to replace my LX mini which was ok for its sit and controlling features but a hassle to cover 3and 4 octaves . The 49 is great for controlling Studio One 6 pro i. It’s layers of control are well thought out and the footprint is 31.5 long so not bad. I like that I don’t have to press the octave button 3 or 4 times to use the full range of some of my Instrument Libraries. I am not a keyboard player and use this for writing and controlling software and it does that very well. The keyboard bed is better than the mini but still not on par with my Roland A500 Pro but like I said I don’t play keyboard well and the 49 is good enough for me and not bad.

[11.8 lb] I bought this to control IK Multimedia’s B3X for iPad. Works great. Plenty of sliders, rotary pots, and buttons. 4 zones, easy learning curve for basics. Could use some better documentation and another octave of playing keys.

[38 x 13 x 6"] I couldn’t say enough about the customer service and promptness of shipping. It’s hard to find knowledgeable customer service agents and a quality product. B&H will get my business again. Oh by the way the keyboard far exceeded my expectations.

[11.8 lb] I bought this product with the hope that I would be able to teach myself how to use MIDI with Reason and Pro Tools. It has been incredibly helpful! It was easy to set-up, it's as easy as install the software, follow the steps, plug it in and you're good to go. The semi-weighted, pressure sensitive keys are great for me as I'm a very beginner pianist. All-in-all, I've had this board for about two weeks and already started writing a song using all the important features from the pads to the faders to the keys. Just a great tool for the amateur and beginner songwriter

[11.8 lb] Bought this for travelling with my laptop, this is the most compact 61-key keyboard I've ever had, but more importantly NOT a piece of junk. Reasonable keyboard feel, bus-powered, and Reason integration is exactly what I needed, and the GX61 would have been worth it at even twice the price!

[38 x 13 x 6"] I owned a MKI Alesis V61 for a number of years and had tons of trouble dialing in the velocity curves and other technical parameters through the old software. After deciding to downscale to the MKII V25, along with the new Alesis software, I was plugged in and writing music in less than 10 minutes. The keyboard plays well with great velocity response. My only complaint is the mod and pitch wheel are a bit sensitive on Serum specifically, but it's nothing a bit of automation editing can't fix.

[38 x 13 x 6"] I was looking for a synth action controller to replace my old Korg Wavestation, which is, in my opinion, the best synth action ever. Is not for everyone, though, since is so light, you can fly on lead passages, but is not very comfortable for pianos or organs. But the problem is that, since is a fully fledged synth, is big and heavy. Not really practical to move it around gigs. Anyway, to my amazement, the Nektar action is so light and smooth, not at all plasticky or spongy as many other controllers I've tried, that I can now put my trusty to Wavestation rest. As a plus, is very light and small overall, as much as I can fit both my main controller (M-Audio Code 61) and the Nektar on the same SKB hard case, how convenient is that? Build quality is top notch. Can't talk about long term, since I've only used it for a few weeks, but looks and feels very well built, it doesn't squeak when squeezed, buttons and dials are great and responsive, configuring it is a breeze, and it does have a multi function plug for either a sustain or expression pedal. That is very nice to me, since I'll be adding another expression pedal to control my left hand, while I use the other for the left. In a nutshell, I believe the Nektar GX49 is without doubt the best sub 100$ 49 key controller in the market.

[38 x 13 x 6"] Bought this for my daughter, who has played for 5-6 years, and been doing composition for a couple of years. Great keyboard for her. She likes how the keyboard feels. She got started using the keyboard right away, and enjoyed it a lot.
