The Whirlwind THS 1M Talkback Headphone Boxfrom Whirlwind THS 1M Talkback Headphone Boxis configured with a single momentary push-to-mute switch to control the output of a microphone. The microphone output of the box is a passive, straight through connection from the microphone input. This ensures that the microphone will still be live on-air, even if power to the THS 1M box is lost. This headphone box allows phantom power to be supplied to a condenser microphone through the microphone output from the broadcast audio mixer (not included). A jack is provided for connection of an optional momentary footswitch to control the microphone operation.

Headphone inputs consist of balanced left and right inputs on separate female XLR connectors. A single front panel volume control adjusts the level of both the left and right earpieces along with another aux input which feeds left and right ears equally. The aux input has its own volume control. Headphones with impedances ranging from 30 to 600 ohms can be driven to full volume.

A: You will need an XLR microphone cable to connect to your mixing board and an instrument cable with 1/4 inch connectors to connect your instrument.

A: There is no single dB level or value recommended for either input of the Whirlwind HAUCXL Active Mono Headphone Control Box (BH # WHHAUCXL).

A: No. There is 1 input and 1 output on the Whirlwind IMP 2 Direct Box.

A: No you can plug the mic out from the box into one of the mic input channels of the mixer. Then the talent will hear you through the cue mix from the Aux sends.

A: The THS boxes are designed for use by one announcer.

Q: 8. Can you use Sennheiser Headphone with boom mic's (Headset) with this machine? is it for one microphone set up only (i.e only one commentator)do you have Australian power plugs for these

A: Yes the THS4 with work with Sennheiser Headsets. It has one mic/headset input.We do not supply Australian power plugs, one can either use an adapter or find their own wall supply that has a 12 V AC 1 Amp output. A: For most cases:(1) XLR - female to male - you would use this to connect the direct box to a sound board or some other device(1) 1/4 mono cable - you would use this cable to connect a guitar/amp/keyboard/etc. into the direct box

A: Yes, the inputs on the Whirlwind THS 4 Talkback Headphone Box and Sports Announcer Console accept line level audio signal so you can connect the output from a ClearCom system to an XLR input on the THS 4.

[3.7 lb] I use this as a professional airshow and sports public address announcer. This THS box provides all the capability needed for my diverse environments and needs. I used it right our of the box for a live airshow event that was livestreamed online and audio around the world on the armed forces network...flawless operation and no issues. Does everything it claims it will without complications. 5

[3.5 lb (1.6 kg)] I find the Whirlwind Direct2 to be a good direct box. I particularly like the Pad and Ground-lift buttons which give me greater functionality. 5

[11.6 x 6.9 x 3"] I bought this direct box to replace an older whirlwind box we had thinking that the box was bad. It turns out that the box was ok and now I have a backup. It turns out to be a bad output on the bass players amp. Solution, put bass directly into direct box and feed both mixer and bass amp from the direct box. Everyone is happy! 5

[3.7 lb] I've used this on pickups from a number of acoustic instruments: violins, mandolins, guitars, etc. It always has a clean sound and the features I need to enhance the quality (if necessary) like a ground/lift switch, impedance switch for the input (instrument/amp) and a filter switch. Plus it's passive so I don't have to worry about phantom power. I love it! 5

[11.6 x 6.9 x 3"] I've been using many of these Whirlwind IMP 2 direct boxes for the last 15yr+ and have yet to have one break down on me. It's built like a tank, gives off a clean signal and takes care of most grounding problems. Great purchase. 5

[3.5 lb (1.6 kg)] Great DI. Works as well as my Radial at half(ish) the price. Lightweight, compact, nice flat bottom perfect for attaching to pedal board if need be. Whisper quiet. Was hoping for the metal jack as shown in the picture, but the plastic jack seems sturdy enough. 5
