    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What are the panel size and weight specifications please?

A: ZOLAR Vega 30C 4.53 kg 6.03 kg with power supply Following unit comes in at 12x12 inches

Q: 2. Does it have to be battery powered or can it be plugged in continuously?

A: Yes it can be plugged in

Q: 3. is there a barn door available for this unit?

A: No, there is no barn door made to work with the American DJ 18P HEX RGBAW+UV LED Wash Light.

Q: 4. The description mentions full color mixing but the sample photos appear to show all 12 elements with one color at a time. Can multiple colors be used simultaneously, e.g., 4x (Amber + red + green) or 6x (Amber + blue)?

A: Hi Bill, The color-mixing factor comes from each lens having all 6 LEDs in them but they are not pixel-controllable. So when you bring up amber, red, and green, the fixture will mix all of those colors from within the lenses but you will not see all three distinct colors separated. They will make a new color to emit from the fixture. The older style that you are thinking of is not manufactured as much any more, where each LED diode color has its distinct placement on the face of the fixture. Now, most fixtures are 4-in-1, 5-in-1, 6-in-1, etc. The whole fixture will color-mix.

Q: 5. Can you purchase barn doors for these fixtures?

    A: No.

Q: 6. Can this unit only be powered by PowerCon? And if so, does it include a PowerCon adapter cable?

A: This unit can only be powered with a PowerCon cable which is not included. A compatible cable is the Blizzard Lighting Cool Cable PowerCon to Grounded Male Edison 14 Gauge Mains Power Cable (25') B&H # BLERNMAI1425. Please see the image.

Q: 7. Can you link the lights and get them to work in sink?

A: Yes these lights can be linked together so they will synchronize.

Q: 8. What Distance can these be placed from the subject to provide decent fill light to fill in shadows?

A: The max distance will depend on the other lighting and the camera settings.

Q: 9. How many Lumens are the white LEDs?

    A: This is the photometric information for the white light. 401.2 fc / 4319 Lux at 3.2' / 1 m 82.1 fc / 883 Lux at 6.5' / 2 m 45.4 fc / 488 Lux at 9.8' / 3 m 22.5 fc / 242 Lux at 13.1' / 4 m

Q: 10. (Thank you for including the SSI rating.) How loud is the fan?

A: The following unit is silent in a production environment the following system produces dp levels between 30-50. which is considered silent in a production enviroment.

[395 to 400 nm] For the price I was expecting something lightweight, but this is solid, pro-level construction. The range of colors are great and the sound syncing works well. My kids love it too - it took them about 5 minutes to get a dance party going.

[DMX512] I don't normally write reviews, but this fixture blew me away and I wanted to let other people know about it. This is built like a tank (even has die-cast yokes), is super compact, and the light output it unreal! This thing is super punchy and has an amazing throw. I had the older Blizzard Fab 5's and those were very nice, but these smoke the original Fab 5 in build quality and output. If I had one TINY complaint it's that the Fab 5 had a little bit better color mixing, but I will gladly trade that for all of the other improvements.

[LED / 4-Button] I purchased two of these to add to 16 that I previously purchased for our community theater. These are an incredibly flexible LED fixture that never ceases to amaze me! Wash lighting, special effects - these fixtures have done everything I have asked them to do.

[53 W] I absolutely LOVE this light! This makes 18 of these lights for our relatively small community theater (45 seats). The built-in flexibility makes this light perfect for everything from general wash to special effects. GREAT fixture! Will be buying more in the future.

[53 W] I was amazed at how bright this small fixture was. Well constructed. The color mixing was better than expected.

[26°] I bought these for both events and mobile DJ applications since they are battery operated (no searching for power, fast set-up) and the price is definitely right. These lights are great over-all...they are solid (heavy, but not too heavy), and they put out a ton of light for their size. I recently used them at a wedding event and they were still going after 8 hours of use (in fade mode). The only fault I have with these is that the menu on the back of the fixture is LED based and the abbreviations are confusing and not as intuitive as Blizzard's other products. I found a very easy work-around though, and that's to simply use the included remote. That makes setting these up VERY simple...you can choose a color, or a fade/sound active, with full control of brightness/speed right from the remote. Each fixture includes one remote (I got 8 fixtures), so I have plenty of spares if I need them. If you are looking for something with full wireless DMX control I would look elsewhere, but as far as a simple battery powered light I have not seen anything that can beat these for the money.

[Manual] Got a couple of these on a Deal Zone and now just bought a third. One came broken in shipping but was quickly replaced. They are solid yet not too heavy. I use these in my video booth and also for video production when I need color washes for backgrounds or lighting effects. The fact that they can run off battery is the main reason I got them because they are so easy to set up.

Customer support at Blizzard was also fast and helpful when being a newbie I didn't realize the power cords had to be TWISTED to lock in addition to being connected in order to charge. That is probably common to DJ lighting but I didn't know. I thought you just plugged them in like a normal piece of equipment.

The best way to use them is the included remote (includes battery) because it's difficult to understand the abbreviated display screen on the light itself. But the remote is really easy to do what you want.

Looking forward to lots of great uses for these lights!

[5.6 lb] I do weddings and corporate events, and I could not be happier with these lights. As far as set-up goes, these could not be easier, as I just place these where ever I want in the room (uplighting, wall/ceiling, centerpiece, whatever), and since they are wireless AND battery, it's super fast and easy. Plus, these things have an incredible amount of light output for their size. The batteries last a LONG time (I have run these over ten hours, and they still had juice left). Build quality is excellent and well worth the money. One small complaint is that one of the black knobs on the yoke section broke (still usable), but I called Blizzard and they sent me TWO replacement knobs just in case I had an issue with one of the other lights (I have 8 of these and I am looking to get more).

[26°] I have 8 Hotbox EXA's which I upgraded to after using Hotbox 5 Rgbaw's for two years. I love the versatility of the added UV especially when combined with varying levels of red for a GREAT magenta. I use them for uplighting at weddings and banquets and I hope to be adding another 8 soon.
