Utilizing a multi-layer coating process for consistent color rendition from lens to lens the Rokinon 35mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens for MFTanswers the challenge of assembling a set of lenses over time. The lens comes in Micro Four Thirds Mount and features industry standard geared focus and iris rings that share a common position with other Rokinon Cine DS lenses. To aid focus pullers who have to work both sides of the lens, the aperture and focus scales are marked on both sides of the lens.

This 35mm lens produces a 33.4° angle-of-view when used on a camera with a four-thirds sized sensor and MFT mount. Hybrid aspherical lenses render sharply defined images with a minimum of distortion and chromatic aberrations, with a minimum focus distance of just under 12" from the lens. A removable petal-shaped lens hood provides flare protection when shooting without a matte box, the lens' threaded front accepts a 77mm filter ring.

Please note that some cameras may require that Shutter Lock be disengaged when using this lens.

Ultra Multi Coated lenses minimize flare and ghosting, and the lenses are color-matched to a standard eliminating the need to acquire an entire set of lenses at the same time.

Industry-standard gearing for focus and aperture rings. Each lens in the Rokinon DS series shares common focus and iris gear ring positions, which speeds up lens changes as accessories such as follow focus units or iris motors don't have to be re-positioned.

"Declicked" aperture ring for smooth iris pulls.

A minimum focusing distance of 12" allows you to get up close to your subject.

A removable petal-type lens hood provides flare protection without a matte box.

The lens opens up to T1.5, providing the capability for low-light shooting or creating extremely shallow depth of field.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it has image stabilization?

A: No, the Rokinon 35mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount does not have in lens image stabilization.

Q: 2. I have a Rokinon 85mm for my Nikon D3200, but I'm looking for a better lens to get closer shots. Would the 32mm work well for this, or will the crop sensor make it so that I lose too much mm? Can't decide on how low of a mm lens I need because of this issue.

A: If you are looking to get a wider shot, the 35mm is a great choice. However there are even wider options, such as the Rokinon 16mm T2.6 Full Frame Cine DS Lens (Nikon F Mount) B&H # RODS16T26N. It just depends on how wide of a shot you need. https://bhpho.to/2HqFqrp

Q: 3. Will I loose size because of the crop sensor using my Nikon D3400 lens? Will the lens turn into a 70mm lens on my Nikon D3400 because of its full frame ability?

A: You are not losing anything and a lens cannot change its mm because a 35mm is a 35mm is a 35mm. It does not change. But change the sensor size, and you change the FOV. The determining factor therefore is not the lens mm but the size of the sensor. On a full frame sensor a 35mm creates a moderately wide FOV or Field Of View perspective. On a APS-C/DX sensor camera like the Nikon D3400, you get a normal FOV perspective. On a MFT sensor, a 35mm creates a moderately telephoto FOV perspective. I suggest learning what mm's do what on different sensors. Then you know what FOV perspective you will get with any given lens and any given sensor. Examples: Full Frame 25mm = Wide 50mm = Normal 100mm = Tele APS-C/DX 18mm = Wide 32mm = Normal 75mm = Tele Micro 4/3' (MFT) 12mm= Wide 25mm = Normal 50mm = Tele Why waste time calculating what a lens looks like in a format you are not using?

Q: 4. What are the focal lengths when mounted on the BMPCC4K??

A: The Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has a 1.9x crop factor, which will give this lens an equivalent focal length of 66.5mm on the camera.

Q: 5. Is this lens compatible with the Viltrox EF-M2?

A: We do not sell Viltrox products at this time. However, this is an EF mount lens. If you have an adapter that that allows you to use EF lenses on a camera with an MFT mount, this lens should work fine with it.

Q: 6. Will I loose size in mm because of the crop sensor in my Nikon D3400 using this lens, will the lens turn into a 70mm lens because of its full frame abilities?

A: The crop factor for the D3400 is 1.5x. This 35mm lens will appear as a 52.5mm lens when used on the D3400.

Q: 7. What is the difference between this lens and Rokinon 35mm T1.5 Cine AS UMC Lens for Nikon F Mount ?

A: All of the DS series lenses are geared at the same distance from the mount so you dont have change your follow-focus mounts when you change lenses.

Q: 8. Are these lenses threaded and if so what size?

A: Yes. 77mm

Q: 9. These lenses fit into my camera?

A: What camera are talking about? If you bought the JVC GLS300 it will. I have the same exact lens and it works fantistically on the camera.

Q: 10. Can this lens fit in Canon t6i?

A: It cannot. This version, B&H # RO3515MFT, is for MFT Mount Cameras. For your T6i you will need B&H # RO3515C which is for EF Mount Cameras. https://bhpho.to/2lvmwAU

[2.045 lb] The lens is so cinematic with a great shallow depth of field, it's a bit heavy which is a strength in my opinion is it gives you more stabilization, compared to it's price I'd never expect it to be that great of a quality, the material of the lens has high quality as well so I do recomend it for anyone having a micro four thirds camera.

[35mm] This Lens works great with Alpha a7iii. I thought focusing would be an issue for since I am use to AF, but coming from the old school of video where cameras didn't have AF, this Rokinon works great! Just did a green screen shoot and the lens was superb! Great for budget minded companies like ours. Thanks to BHPhoto for great speedy delivery and quality online service!
