Featuring a V-mount battery plate, the Dracast Pro Series LED500 Daylight Light Panelfrom Dracast Pro Series LED500 Daylight Light Panelis an ideal choice for the location or studio work where color accuracy, control, and flicker-free output are of major importance. The LED500's daylight-balanced output is well suited for outdoor work or color-matching HMI fixtures, while its high CRI of 96 renders colors with precision and fidelity. Dimming from 0 to 100% is conveniently done with a back-panel knob that adjusts the output with negligible color shift. The low electrical draw of just 30W means a timely return on your investment.

The durable anodized aluminum frame is supported by a sturdy, U-shaped yoke with locking knobs on each side and a standard 5/8" receiver. This compact 12 x 6" panel can be used worldwide thanks to its included 100 to 240 VAC power adapter. You can also use the onboard V-mount battery plate with 14.8 VDC batteries when mains power is unavailable. Accessories include optional 4-way barndoors for contouring and control of the LED500's 45° beam angle. A carry case is included for convenient storage and portability.

A: You have to charge the battery separately to use it remotely, it does not charge while on the light. You can use AC plugged directly into the unit for powered use however.

A: I just bought the filter kit and drop them in when I need it. it comes with varying levels of CTO.

Q: 10. I see the barndoors for this, but not the gels made to fit. Aren't there gels mad to fit right into the barndoors?

A: I haven't come across gels specifically made for the Dracast Led500. B&H has a lot of gel packs, many are 12 by 12 which you can just cut in half and slide right into the barndoors. I went to a local photo store and bought gel sheets, very cheap, and just cut them to fit the frame. I also got an appropriate color gel to change the balance to tungsten.

[45°] I was finding something similar to Dracast and ended up taking this product. I should say that it is a great lighting for professional work and works superbly. I was looking for a panel which was easy to carry and then someone told me to buy these. It was an awesome experience altogether. This light has a high CRI and a perfect color. Will surely recommend it to all. 5

[Proprietary] I shoot video courses for my wife's company's website (--------------). After white-balancing problems with cheaper lighting, I sprung for Dracast LEDs and am very satisfied. I started with three 160s which were adequate for most talent lighting, but quickly added two 500s (all daylight 5600K) to deliver true white backgrounds. Since I bought the lights separated by several months, I was concerned that the light color might vary slightly, but that was not the case. The lights are all with 50 degrees Kelvin of each other. I now mix and match them as needed. Infinite adjustment with dimming. Quick and simple to set up. Stands on the LED500s are sturdy (tho the nylon stand bag could be improved). LED500s are most effective with barn doors, which are required to hold DRACAST LED500 filters. Filters (for both 500 and 160) are also helpful to diffuse light on talent as necessary. I don't use the tungsten filter, so can't comment. Am very pleased with these lights! 5

[30 W ] I used this 3-light Dracast LED 500 Pro Series kit for a corporate shoot and I love the way they perform. The beam intensity and the color balance are spot on and they produce nothing but soft pleasing light. The lights don't get hot and the beams aren't too warm either. Setup and teardown are so easy and I wouldn't give hotlights a second thought with these mobile, powerful LED lights offering better performance at greater energy efficiency. 5

[5600K] The LED500 Pro from Dracast is an optimal choice for those that work on location or within a studio. This is due in part to its only weighing 4 pounds as well as its ability to produce an exceptional balance output and color matching HMI. Its CRI is able to render 95 colors with impressive fidelity and precision. A back panel knob is able to easily adjust dimming (100-0%) as well as negligible color shift output.
