    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will it support a sound bar through the Rca output?

    A: Yes it will.

Q: 2. Is the optical quality superior to my current 30X70 zoom? I assume so since zooms usually are inferior. Tests? Proof of image quality over zoom? If used at night for astronomy, e.g., estimating magnitudes of variable stars, will the small 2.7 exit pupil be a negative to the point "not really usable at night sky"? What about splitting the light into the two barrels? Will this also be an issue of "not really meant for nighttime sky viewing"?

A: I own both the angled 30x70 zoom lens and the binocular BTX 35x eyepieces for my 90mm Swarovski modular spotting scope. Two me they are two different tools in the tool box. The 30x70 zoom eyepiece is ideal for scoping distant birds for bird watchers (which I am), especially for distant waterfowl on a lake as you pan the 180 degree vista in front of you. This combo is also ideal for watching shorebirds. You find the ducks at 30x and if you can’t identify them, you use the zoom feature. I use the binocular eyepiece for nest watching only these days, such as Bald Eagle and Osprey nests, or Purple Martin houses. With the binocular eyepiece, the whole unit is kind of heavy and bulky so you do not want to be lugging it too far in the field. I find the depth of field and, therefore, the focus, very sensitive with the binocular eyepiece. The binocular eyepiece is not the best choice if you are sharing the scope viewing experience with others because they will have to adjust the interpupilary distance of the two lenses and possibly the adjustable rings that aid in the distance your eyes are from the lenses. Optically, both lenses are mind-blowing! I have used the binocular eyepiece at night watching birds and bats fly silhouetted in front of the full moon. It was extremely sharp and bright. I am in my late 60s and have owned and used just about every make of scope. I am an Ornithologist so watch birds for a living, for citizen science, and for pleasure, and nothing can touch the quality of this scope for bird watching. I am sorry, for astronomical endeavors, I just don’t have the experience or expertise to answer your questions.

Q: 3. I have been waiting a month. When is this item coming?

A: If Swarovski has them in stock it takes about 14 business days to arrive at B&H. Please consider that B&H was closed for the last ten days hor holiday break. Receiving department opened today (10/19/2022)

Q: 4. where is the bass and treble control?

A: Hi Michael, yes, you can use the remote control to adjust the bass and treble of the receiver. ~Ralph

Q: 5. Can you connect a TV and 5.1 surround sound speakers to this

A: This is a stereo receiver, which means it is for two speakers. A TV can be connected, but only through analog stereo RCA connections. I would recommend an A/V receiver, such as the Sony STR-DH590 5.2-Channel A/V Receiver, BH #SOSTRDH590. This receiver will allow you to hook up to your TV with an HDMI cable, and accepts 5 speakers, as well as a powered sub woofer, for a 5.1 surround sound system. .

Q: 6. Will this eyecup fit over 1.5" diameter Swarovski Habitch armored 10X42 binocular ocular?

A: Hi John, I hope you are well today and thank you for your interest in our products. The eyecup you selected will only work with our current spotting scopes with a 20-60x eyepiece. For example, the STR 80 or ATS/STS 65 or 80 with a 20-60x eyepiece. Please contact us at 1-800-426-3089 Ext-1 to further assist you in finding the correct eyecup. Best Regards, Jacob

Q: 7. Is this item for angled scopes only, or can it be configured for straight view scopes?

A: The only (2) covers Swarovski has for straight scopes are the Swarovski Stay-On-Case for STS-80 / STS-80 HD / STM-80 HD Spotting Scope BH #SWPCGSTM80HD • MFR #49828 and the Swarovski Stay-On-Case Eyepiece Module for STX Spotting Scope BH #SWSTXSOCEM • MFR #49954

Q: 8. Is there a winged eyecup for the NL pure binoculars or do these also fit?

A: Sorry it will not work on the NL pure

Q: 9. Does it work with the STM 80 or the ATM 80

A: The Eye Cup for ATX/STX will not work with an ATM/STM spotter. Assuming you have a 20-60 or 25-50 Wide Angle Eyepiece, you'll need our item 44089. This can be found by searching the B&H page for "Swarovski Optik 44089".

Q: 10. Will this work on Zeiss 20x60 binocular ?

A: Unfortunately, no. The eyepiece diameters are very different.

[Rubber] if you have a pair of swaro binos, it makes a world of difference whether using them during the day or to look at stars at night. Perfect addition to my el's.

[Rubber] The binocular like setup makes it very comfortable In use. I paired it with the ATX 95mm objective and the image is bright even though the light is split into two paths. The image quality is as expected for a top shelf spotting scope. There is not much else I can add to ota optical performance. I will just mention a few things about it when in use.

I compared with the Leica scope in B & H and what made the sale was the focusing ring, it is so smooth and easy to grab and adjust when compared with the tiny and tight shell on the Leica Televid.

The focus aid works fine to help with aiming the acope but it seems cheap being entirely made of plastic, and the forehead rest, for me, is useless.

The BTX and 95mm ATX combination is a large scope and on the tripod, it is not very balanced when mounted on the balance rail.
It feels awful on a ballhead as it "wants" to drop off in all different sides all the time if I don't hold on to it tight while moving it around. So trying to following a moving object does not work with a ball head. It works fine on a video pan and tilt head but I think a gimball head may be better.

I am still looking for a set of tripod legs for this setup. I used a big manfrotto and a medium sized Gitzo but both have annoying vibrations. I am planning to test it on a set of wooden telescope legs.

A minor complaint: the covers for the oculars are on a leash, which is great, but that for the objective is not and I struggle to find a place to store that large front cover when in use.

[Rubber] I have to pairs of these, one on my swaro nL pures and one on my EL. It makes the image you see better because it stops light coming in around your eyes.

[Rubber] The binoculars are much nicer to look through with the winged eye-cups. I used them scouting this weekend and they worked great as did the rainguard.

[0.15 lb] The winged eyecups work as advertised and were very easy to install on my Swarovski 15 56 SLC binoculars. The rainguard for the eyecups is much superior to the OEM rainguard, as it's much easier to install and remove.

[Rubber] Spectacular optics that really enhances my ability to spend time glassing with greater ease. It’s not heavy but I wouldn’t backpack it on long treks unless I was going to set up for a while. The benefits of using both eyes and not having to squint and look with just one eye is very real and definitely help the user to be much more relaxed. This is one element of my spotting scope system and I’m very happy I’ve added it. After spending some quality time behind it, I would definitely buy it again and strongly recommend it.

[Rubber] This Swarovski Winged Eyecup Set works great on my Swarovski ELs. The winged eyecups work great at blocking out peripheral light and the custom rainguard fits perfectly over them. I’ll keep these on my ELs most of the time now. A great accessory and purchase. I highly recommend this product! Great job, Swarovski Optik!
