I called in on a Sunday afternoon and sales rep was right there and


amswered any questions...The only hiccup was FedEX delivery


which was supposed to be on Wednesday did not occur until


Thursday.. I forgot to add price was extremely competitive as well.

You get the Ultimate Lows that you would expect from this JBL 18. Unit is all Black & Attractive. Ty B&H for directing me to get this Subwoofer. Plays with two JRX 225, also from B&H.. [Wood] This is my first PA subwoofer so I don't have much to realistically compare it to but I'm happy for my purposes!
My use:
With 2 mackie thump go's through a mixer for karaoke, backyard parties, garage band, general small portable DJ setup.
I bought used and saved some money on an already good price.
At first I was disappointed with the power and sound when I hooked it to my mixer via the headphone out for volume control.
It turns out my cable was bad or sent a weak signal for the sub.
I replaced the Cable (1/4 TRS to split balanced XLR) and now that the signal is strong and clean and the sub actually sounds GOOD and musical - so a clean strong signal will do wonders with this subwoofer and I think a little break-in period helped it loosen up and improve SQ. Also properly setting the gain staging will help maximize output.
The smaller weight and size of the sub are a big factor for me; it's not that hard to move compared to the majority of other 18's.

If you're looking for a monster teeth rattling single sub with power for a live band in a larger venue this might not be the sub for you but it does great for small/medium DJ applications.
I will likely add another one for outdoor events or bigger venues.
Overall after a few weeks of ownership I recommend it if you manage your expectations

[Wood] Easy to carry with excellent bass response! Sound quality is good with matching Mackie Thump speakers. I Love Mackie products!

[Wood] Easy to use, produced great sound when paired with JBL pendant speakers. Rack mount is nice if you have a rack. It's a heavy amp, which is generally a good sign. The mic and AUX inputs both sound great. The output level indicator is great for making sure you aren't turned up too high.

[100 Hz] I do a one-man-dog with WAV file backing tracks. Mostly smooth jazz, production pop rock, nylon guitar classical tidbits. All through a Pod Go wireless into the RCF J8.
This thing is clear and light to move. No, it does not have the incredible mid-range of the bigger arrays with 20x3 speakers, but boy does this thing belt out some air! Really good for tiny restaurants and patio gigs.

[100 Hz] It's amazing how this box has such a clear and strong sound. I was a user of Turbosound ip2000 which I sold recently because I only work with big sound but after listening to this Evox J8, believe me that it has NOTHING to envy to the regular Evox 8. Even the Bass 12 is even bigger than the regular evox 8 something that helps him a lot for heavy bass. Is it worth the investment. I recommend it. Thanks B & H

[35 x 24 x 16"] I just used two of these with two QSC K10.2s and they were banging so loud; I loved it! All of my guests really enjoyed it too. The bass is really great and the cross-over options are even better. I would definitely recommend these and I highly recommend buying these direct here, from B&H Photo; amazing customer service team!
