Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. HI CAN IT'S WORK WITH SONY FS1 SUPER 35 ?

A: Yes, the ProAm USA Orion DVC210 12' Camera Crane can support up to 10lbs effectively.

Q: 2. On this boom, can you turn the camera left and right while in action?

A: You wouldn't turn left or right so much as swing left or right. Camera is always facing forward and the boom arm can rotate on the tripod base if the camera needs to see what is to the left or right of it.

Q: 3. When looking at photo #3 (i.e. the camera mounting plate) I see it is attached to the left side of the arm. I have one particular situation where I need it to be on the right side of the arm... I'm shooting a parade from a sidewalk on the south side of the street, with camera facing west. For this event, I need my camera facing in the opposite direction. So, my first question is, is it possible to flip the camera bracket over 180 degree, and at the same time, rotate it so that it faces to the right, instead of the left. Hope I made that clear enough. If that won't work, I have a Bescor MP-101 Motorized Pan Tilt Head that I could mount on the camera plate in it's default configuration, BUT, would the height of the Bescor MP-101 allow a camera (Canon XA-10 or Canon G30) mounted on top of it to clear the arm, hardware, etc., so the camera could face to the right?

A: According to ProAm: The camera bracket could be switched to the opposite side, but it would involve moving the handle to the opposite side as well, which would take some time and tools. I think the best solution would be, using the DVC210 with the boxy camera mount, attach your Bescor Pan Tilt Head and the camera on top of that. With the Extension Plate of the DVC210 added to the camera mounting bracket, he or she could even mount the Pan Tilt and camera in an upside down position. If you have further questions, please email us at provideo@bhphoto.com.

Q: 4. Is it possible to point the camera directly down as shown in the 6th photo with only the included parts?

A: No, the added mounting head shown in the 6th image is not included. You will need a separate head to point the camera directly down.

Q: 5. Do you know where this is manufactured?

A: The Country of Origin for this Crane is listed as China.

Q: 6. I have the ProAm 12' (maybe 10'?) larger version with it's stand. Will the tripod work with this? Is there a pan accessory?

A: the tripod from the 12" version will work with the ProAm USA Orion DVC210 8' DSLR Camera Crane / Jib

Q: 7. How much counterweight would I need to make this feel floating without the camera? Can't seem to find an answer. Thanks

A: It would really depend on the payload that you chose to work with. And this is different for every user. It uses plate weights or Dumbell weights that you would find in Sporting Stores.

Q: 8. Can this be used for either the canon XA-10 or XF-105 Camcorder?

A: The ProAm USA Orion DVC210 Camera Crane can take a payload of 10 lbs. the XA10 is approximately 3 lbs and the XF105 4 lbs in working order so you are good to go with either camera.

Q: 9. Does the ProAm USA Orion DVC200 12' Camera Crane Production Package include a tri pod for the jib?

A: Yes, it is included, as per the "In The Box" description on the product page.

Q: 10. Can this be used with the Sony FX6? If so how do we see what we’re filming?

A: Yes, the Sony FX6 can be used with the ProAm USA Orion DVC200 12' Camera Crane Production Package. To monitor footage, you can run a HDMI or SDI to a mounted screen, or you can use a wireless video transmission system.

[8' (2.4 m)] I am a high school film production teacher and needed a tough JIib to teach my studenys with. I bought this one thinking that it seemed to have everything I needed. I was suprised at just how easy it was to assemble and configure to alter the lenght. My students have caught on to the use, assembly, and disassembly. The action of the jib is smooth and easy to use. If I had to find a weakness it would probably be the overall weight of the kit, however it is a 12' jib, so I was expecting something with some serious heft to it.

[5' (1.5 m)] After buying and using smaller jibs in the 4-6' range, I finally just had to have something bigger. After much research I settled on the ProAm DVC210. I also ordered the 4'extension adn cable support, so I now have a stable 12' jib, (AWESOME). I use for weddings, corporate and industrial jobs. The use is limitless if you use your imagination. It does take considerable extra time to plan for transport, setuop/takedown, not to mention allowing space to actually use it on a job. But when it all comes together, it's worth the effort...

[12 lb (5.4 kg)] Use it for infomercials and special event shows. It sets up very quickly. Is light weight but well built. What is NOT so great is the screw tap holes. They all seem easy to strip out. Have not done that yet thank goodness. Best thing of all is the lightweight. We use it on a modified Manfrotto Heas/Tripod. The Fluid Damping makes it so smooth.

[15.35 lb] Kid you not - this thing is a GIANT! The unit has almost no play which can be a problem from a 2-piece design. It is quite tall, which is perfect. For the price this thing is Outstanding! I use this with their Big Dolly unit and the ProAm DVC210 Crane. It looks absolutely MASSIVE when I assemble all the parts. No need for bigger cranes with indoor shots as this unit gets me Gigs just from its looks.

[5' (1.5 m)] ProAm is probably one of the most accommodating companies I have dealt with in years. I had a problem with the build I had purchased from B & H and they re-built one for me. I have never seen a company value customer service more that ProAm..B & H and proAm are perfect together. Great Crane rig set up as well love the footage I can achieve for my production. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PRODUCT AND COMPANY
