Capture smooth, dynamic sweeping pans and camera rises with the ProAm USA Orion DVC210 8' DSLR Camera Cranefrom ProAm USA. Supporting loads up to 8 lb, the 8' arm adds 5' of reach from the fulcrum point, with an optional 4' extension available for additional length. It is constructed from 1" and 2" aluminum tubing, setting up quickly and without tools to benefit on-location productions. At the end of your shoot, the jib breaks down into two 4' long sections for easier travel and storage. To balance your load, a 1" counterweight bar at the rear of the arm accepts standard and readily available dumbbell weights.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what is the item weight

A: The weight of the box that this kit comes in is 30 pounds.

Q: 2. Is there a place to mount the monitor on the crane?

A: For this crane we would suggest something like this clamp and arm. Clamp it where it does the most good at the rear of the crane. Pearstone Articulating Arm and Mini Clamp Kit B&H # PEAA83K.

Q: 3. Is it possible to point the camera directly down as shown in the 6th photo with only the included parts?

A: No, the added mounting head shown in the 6th image is not included. You will need a separate head to point the camera directly down.

Q: 4. Does this jib have the ability to tilt while in use?

A: Camera can auto-tilt to remain level, or the user can remove a pin to manually tilt the camera.

Q: 5. Reference 6th photo of DVC 210 crane/jib. Can someone identify the tilt head in the photo?

A: According to ProAm, this is the Micro Fluid Head 3126 by Manfrotto - which is unfortunately no longer sold by B&H. A similar alternative to this item is the Manfrotto 128RC MA128RC (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/553886-REG/Manfrotto_128RC_128RC_QR_Micro_Fluid.html)

Q: 6. I have the ProAm 12' (maybe 10'?) larger version with it's stand. Will the tripod work with this? Is there a pan accessory?

A: the tripod from the 12" version will work with the ProAm USA Orion DVC210 8' DSLR Camera Crane / Jib

Q: 7. Can this be used to mount the canon 5d mark iv and canon 80d?

A: Yes it can. The Orion DVX210 has an 8 pound load capacity, which is more than enough to handle DSLRs like the 5D Mark IV and 80D.

Q: 8. is this also for for other cranes or only for pro am?

A: This is for ProAm (although it may work other cranes with some modification). Also, it is not compatible with all ProAm cranes. It would be best to contact ProAm directly with further questions concerning compatibility.

Q: 9. Can I use this system with a Canon C100/battery/canon L series lens?

A: Yes you can, I have this setup and the result is amazing.

Q: 10. I have the D&S Provista 7518 tripod with FM18 head. Will my tripod hold this jib, camera and counter-weights? In general, what weight capacity do I need in a tripod for a jib like this? With my camera (BMCC with rails etc.) close to 10 pounds, this 12 pound jib, and maybe 35 pounds (?) counterweights, do I really need a tripod that claims 55-pound capacity?

A: I have the Pro Am jib but added a 4' extension for a total of 12'. I purchased a dedicated tripod for the rig, a Manfrotto 132XNB rated at 66 lbs, as I use 35 lbs of counterweight. I would always suggest you err on the side of caution as you will likely be using the rig around people, and you don't want a lawsuit trying to save a few bucks. Picked mine up non ebay for under $200. Has a 100mm ball head, I also purchase the Pro Am ball bearing mount for the jib as opposed to mounting on a tripod head. FYI, I too have the Pro Vista tripod, but I use it for my 4 and 6' jibs.

[8 lb (3.6 kg)] I am a high school film production teacher and needed a tough JIib to teach my studenys with. I bought this one thinking that it seemed to have everything I needed. I was suprised at just how easy it was to assemble and configure to alter the lenght. My students have caught on to the use, assembly, and disassembly. The action of the jib is smooth and easy to use. If I had to find a weakness it would probably be the overall weight of the kit, however it is a 12' jib, so I was expecting something with some serious heft to it.

[8' (2.4 m)] After buying and using smaller jibs in the 4-6' range, I finally just had to have something bigger. After much research I settled on the ProAm DVC210. I also ordered the 4'extension adn cable support, so I now have a stable 12' jib, (AWESOME). I use for weddings, corporate and industrial jobs. The use is limitless if you use your imagination. It does take considerable extra time to plan for transport, setuop/takedown, not to mention allowing space to actually use it on a job. But when it all comes together, it's worth the effort...
