Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with canon 6D?

A: This monitor will work with the Canon 6D.

Q: 2. focus peaking?

A: Call ProAm USA. They are very good at answering questions.

Q: 3. I have the D&S Provista 7518 tripod with FM18 head. Will my tripod hold this jib, camera and counter-weights? In general, what weight capacity do I need in a tripod for a jib like this? With my camera (BMCC with rails etc.) close to 10 pounds, this 12 pound jib, and maybe 35 pounds (?) counterweights, do I really need a tripod that claims 55-pound capacity?

A: I have the Pro Am jib but added a 4' extension for a total of 12'. I purchased a dedicated tripod for the rig, a Manfrotto 132XNB rated at 66 lbs, as I use 35 lbs of counterweight. I would always suggest you err on the side of caution as you will likely be using the rig around people, and you don't want a lawsuit trying to save a few bucks. Picked mine up non ebay for under $200. Has a 100mm ball head, I also purchase the Pro Am ball bearing mount for the jib as opposed to mounting on a tripod head. FYI, I too have the Pro Vista tripod, but I use it for my 4 and 6' jibs.

Q: 4. Does this only work in live view?

A: All monitors connected will show what is on the back screen. If you are in Live View, you will see Live View. If you are not in Live View the screen will be black. If you go to Menu, you will see that.

Q: 5. Will this work for Audio-Technica at2020

A: The ProAm USA Universal Shock Mount for Microphones specifies compatibility with microphone diameters from 0.38" to 1.75". The Audio-Technica AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Microphone specifies a diameter of 2.05" and therefore would be too large and not compatible with the ProAM Universal Shock Mount.

Q: 6. Will it hold a AKG 414?

A: Yes, the ProAm USA Universal Shock Mount for Microphones should successfully mount the AKG C414 XLII Large-Diaphragm Multipattern Condenser Microphone.

Q: 7. Is it possible to point the camera directly down as shown in the 6th photo with only the included parts?

A: No, the added mounting head shown in the 6th image is not included. You will need a separate head to point the camera directly down.

Q: 8. Reference 6th photo of DVC 210 crane/jib. Can someone identify the tilt head in the photo?

A: According to ProAm, this is the Micro Fluid Head 3126 by Manfrotto - which is unfortunately no longer sold by B&H. A similar alternative to this item is the Manfrotto 128RC MA128RC (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/553886-REG/Manfrotto_128RC_128RC_QR_Micro_Fluid.html)

Q: 9. Does the ProAm DVC 210 crane/jib maintain camera angle when raised and lowered?

A: The balance of the ProAm USA Orion DVC210 8' DSLR Camera Crane / Jib depends on the weights being used to counterbalance the jib.

Q: 10. does this come with a case?

A: No, it does not. Not coming with a case is for the people who will keep the crane in the studio and never go on location. For those of you more adventurous types, here is the recommended carrying case. ProAm USA Extra-Large Camera Crane Carrying Bag for HD750 B&H # PRCRNBAG750.

[Aluminum] With this shock mount, I can literally *pound* on my desk and absolutely no resonance gets through the arm into the mic. I'm using this for my Audio-Technica ATR 2100 (the old mini USB model, not the newer X model with USB type C) which is about 28 mm in diameter, and the bands across the front and back hold it very nicely even though the actual sleeve is made for a 52 mm microphone. The isolation is PHENOMENAL. My super cheap mic arm is attached to my desk and used to send a resonating gong type sound into the mic any time something impacted the desk (a drink, my hand, etc.) and I hated subjecting my stream audience to that. That's no longer a worry!

[Aluminum] I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. I work for a hospital system and we have mostly hard surface smooth floors. This dolly rolls perfectly on them and has allowed me to get some great footage. It folds and packs nicely into the carrying case and can easily fit in cases with other gear. I recommend it 100%.

[Aluminum] I use this to mount my jib/crane onto its stand. It is easy to use and durable after heavy use at a school. It is primarily used by teens in a film class.

[1.05 lb] This is one of the best spies I've ever made. I've been looking for something that I can use on level ground and this thing performs awesome. The wheels and the locking mechanism are of very high quality and work flawlessly. I've been using this for my 35mm and 120 film cameras on Gitzo 3 section carbon fiber tripod. You definitely might want to add some weight on the center column but I have yet to find the need to do that. My next application will be to use my heavyweight Manfrtto tripod with my sign our view camera. Packs up very nice in a small easy to carry bag.

[Aluminum] I tried 3 previous shock mounts claiming to be able to hold a 42mm mic. I might as well have been using scotch tape. None of them would grip enough to keep the mic from easily sliding through. I am using this on a vintage (heavy) AKG tube mic, so I needed something really secure. This unit has both a spring clamp, and the quadruple rubber band style you see on SDC mics. Great job. It is actually better than the factory unit. Finally got something that works!

[1.05 lb] I use this dolly on about every video project that I do now. It is simple to carry and use on the go, great for location shots! My tripod isn't very heavy so I added a small weight to the dolly to help smooth out the shots, but this isn't the manufacturer's issue.
