A: Yes, a Cat7 cable is backwards compatible with Cat5 and Cat6 systems. You can use a Cat7 cable with this product, however there will be no added benefit.

A: There is no Analog to Digital conversion on the SoundTools CAT Rack FX Audio Over CAT5 Rack. This unit is effectively a snake that uses CAT 5/6/7 ethernet instead of a multichannel copper cable. It can accept and send both Analog and Digital (AES/EBU, DMX. Etc) signals in the same CAT5/6/7 Ethernet cable.

A: This is passive.

A: Yes, you can send audio in either direction.

A: No, you cannot us the Radial Engineering Catapult Mini RX 4-Channel Cat 5 Audio Snake and a router to duplicate the signal.

A: The Catapult Mini system can send a signal up to a maximum of 300’ without issue. However, due to the economical nature of ethernet cable these systems are susceptible to interference from the surrounding environment. Because of this how long it can actually run will vary by the location. This system works in correlation with the Radial Engineering Catapult Mini TX 4-Channel Cat 5 Audio Snake, BH #RAR8008028. You will need bot the transmitter and receiver.

A: The four XLR tails are approximately 24" long.

A: Depending on the application, you may need both male and female versions of the SoundTools CAT Tails MX Four XLR Male Audio Lines Down Shielded Cat 5/6/7 Cable. For instance, if you use this cable to send an analog signal over Cat cable and the device at the receiving end needs to make analog XLR connections.

[1 User] Korg was really thinking like a synth musician when they created this kit. It works great to visualize the waveforms and harmonic content. I like the fact that the audio pass-through outputs are completely passive which means they work whether the NTS-2 is powered on or not. This way you can just keep it in your signal chain and not worry about running down its batteries (it also runs on USB). Build-wise it is similar to the other Nu:Tekt kits. You need to break apart the circuit boards, but I found that pretty easy to do and they broke cleanly along the score lines. The input and output jacks are through-hole solder type so should be more robust than the SMT style used on the original NTS-1. All-in-all I'm very happy with this purchase. 5

[Download] Last minute idea from my client to do video and we needed to run the video feed 500'. Went on-line to, where else, B&H and less than 20 hours later I had it in my hand and we were starting the event. The unit worked flawlessly, we actually sent video down 700' without any problems. Great addition to any workbox and the salesperson at B&H was awesome as usual! 5

[1 User] I haven't used it very much yet. Mainly due to needing some adapters that I don't have. That said, it's a Korg, the build was straightforward and fun to do, the fit and finish of the product are of the usual Korg quality. The oscilloscope offers a variety of functions that are usually only available on much larger and far more expensive models. The book is full of artist interviews, history of synthesizers, beautiful photographs and a wide range of tips and tricks for this and other products as well as all sorts of patches. If you're new to oscilloscopes, I would definitely recommend getting the book as it gives detailed information about the various functions of the NTS-2. People have described the NTS-2 as the Swiss Army knife for musicians, and they're not wrong. Whether you're into synthesizers or not, this device can be of use to you. If you're a Korg fan, it's a must have. 5

I have been doing all of my music editing using Sennheiser HD 289 Pro headphones. This Blue Cat Audio software/VST has been very useful in helping me better understand what is going on in my recording. 5

[1 User] I used in to run a signal from my matrix switcher to a TV 80ft away. I worked perfectly. No signal loss, and plug and play setup. The only thing I wish for was mounting capabilities on the receiver end, but that's neither here nor there. 5

[Download] I'm using two of these to extend a dual monitor / extended desktop to a workstation across the room. I've tried competing products with signal auto adjust and they simply don't work. The remote displays are as clear as the local displays. I am not using the audio feature of this product and cannot comment on its performance. The value is execeptional as I got two for less than I paid for 1 of another brand. I have no complaints about this product. 5
