Q: 1. what's the longest usb cable i can use with this thing...? i'm using a 1-1.5meter cable and it only works sometimes. it is frustrating that there is no information about this, and the cable that comes with the keystationmini 32 is really really short.....

A: I would replace the cable. Typically USB cables may be used up to 15 feet without signal loss issues.

Q: 2. Does this have an auxiliary output jack that you can plug into headphones or a boom box?

A: No, the Keystation 88 is a MIDI keyboard controller which has digital ports for USB and MIDI, but it does not have any analog inputs or outputs to connect a boom box or headphones. You can connect headphones to your computer for monitoring. If you want a more traditional keyboard that is a similar size and in the same general price range, you may like the Alesis Concert 88-Key Digital Piano with Full-Sized Keys (B&H # ALCONCERT) which has a stereo output for headphones, but no aux input. The Artesia PE-88 Portable Digital Piano / Arranger Keyboard (B&H # ARPE88) which has headphone and line outputs, stereo aux input and a microphone input. We do have more options for other models listed with our portable keyboards. Please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website for further assistance.

Q: 3. can you use a phone with windows 7?

A: No, the DJ-Tech POKETDJ Software Controller is intended for use with a computer, not a smartphone. It is compatible for use with a computer running Windows 7.

Q: 4. hi what are the dimensions of this key lab thanks?

A: The Arturia KeyLab MKII 49 measures 31.2 x 11.7 x 2.1" (793 x 297 x 53 mm).

Q: 5. How do I suspend or change the velocity? It doesn't work properly or I do something wrong.

A: In the menu, you should see a 'VEL CURVE' setting that you can select and adjust the velocity on the keys as needed.

Q: 6. Does this program work with the Surelab D1080?

A: No, the Epson SureLab Order Controller Software is not designed for the Surelab D1080.

Q: 7. The specifications say that it has a 5-pin MIDI output port, is that correct? Cause I can’t find this on any pictures over the internet.

A: No, there's a miniusb/usb 2.0 output port and just it.

Q: 8. Can you use this as a fader wing for PC lighting control software?

A: Does your PC lighting control software support MIDI? If so then yes, you could use these faders. If it only supports DMX, then no, this is not a DMX compatible controller.

Q: 9. Besides the bundled software, what are the differences between this MK3 version and the previous M-Audio Keystation Mini 32 II version?

A: The main differences between the Keystation Mini 32 MKII and MKIII versions are the included software and a slight color change for the body.

Q: 10. Does it require external speakers?

A: Yes

Great keyboard and was a great deal with the V Collection 6, some confusion in the DAW control but totally manageable

Works really well with FL studio, I can stop play rewind fast forward etc using this keyboard. The keys feel amazing. I can't complain.

I had the Keylab61 MKII, but needed the hammer-action keys for orchestral arrangments, and just because I like the feel of a real piano. I read reviews that said the action is heavy, it is, but not in a bad way. Most real pianos I have played have a heavier action so maybe I am used to it.

Connectivity: Yeah, it's amazing with Cubase. I found a script online and I was off to the races. I open up the MIDI control center and adjust some user defined MIDI CC presets for a lot of my orchestral VST's, and easy peasy.

Build Quality: The Komplete Kontrol everyone hems and haws about is plastic and more expensive, it also doesn't integrate as well as they would like you to believe. This thing is metal, and beautiful with wood accents. No, you don't get a big LCD screen, like I need another screen, I have two 32 screens already.

Bottom line, if you want something that you can feel expressive on, has all the MIDI sliders and knobs you need to fiddle about, or make your orchestral arrangements sound more realistic, this is it. I love my Arturia. They are like teenage engineering but affordable.

My husband played a real piano & keyboards he was younger but hasn't played for years. He wanted to start again and debated between the KeyLab 88 MKII and a more traditional stand alone piano-type keyboard. He's so happy we went this route.

He uses it with Logic Pro and feels the KeyLab offers the perfect amount of features without adding unnecessary things. He hasn't yet figured it all out, but it's great to sit down and play freely or to record using the software and create a song.

The build is excellent, with a metal body and wood accents. The action of the key bed is excellent and is much closer to a real piano than non-weighted keys. The additional weight of the keys makes playing at different volume levels very easy.

One complain that he had was the lack of documentation on how to set it up and integrate it with different DAWs, but Arturia's tech support is top notch and quickly replied with a long and detailed emailing showing step by step directions on how to set it up with Logic Pro. Plus, their website has a great FAQ section and detailed user manuals that cover how to use most of the keyboard's features.

In addition to a great keyboard, the unit comes with some wonderful software. It includes Ableton Live Lite for those who don't already have a DAW. It also comes with Piano V/V2, which is a piano software add-on worth $249 by itself and Analog Lab, which is a collection of older (from the 80s I think), classic synthesizer sounds worth $199.

So, the keyboard itself is a great item for the price, but when all the additional software is included, the KeyLab 88 MkII is a wonderful item.

This is an excellent controller - The build quality is fantastic with a metal body, machined pitch/mod wheels, and a fantastic Fatar keybed. Highly recommend this controller.

I was looking for a controller that had a real piano feel but also integrated out of the box w/ my DAW (Logic). It was between this and the M-Audio Hammer 88. This one looks and feels much higher quality and has a lot more onboard controls that allow me to do most of what I need in Logic right from the Arturia controller. It looks really great in the studio too!

This is a solid MIDI controller with nice feeling semi-weighted keyboard. It has lots of integrated controls for modulating the included Arturia synth plugins and good integration with many popular DAW software packages. I opted for the semi-weighted 61 key version due to recovering from 60+ years of making parts and hand issues. There is an 88 key piano weighted version also.

This thing is really sturdy and has very good keyboard feel. There are better-feeling keyoards but nowhere near this price range. The pads are surprisingly good as well. Connectivity is above expectations especially when paired to Analog Lab or the included presets.
