Q: 1. are there two monitors or one included?

A: Only one monitor is included at the $499 price. I have two and have no complaints.

Q: 2. What cables do I need to connect to my MacBook Pro ?

A: You will need more than cables. The first thing you will need is a Peavey USB-P - USB "Direct Box". You can find it on the B&H website BH #PEUSBP. Then 2 XLR cables to connect the speakers to the Peavey.

Q: 3. What are the woofers Xmax?

A: The manufacturer has not included any specifications for the Xmax of the Neumann KH 870 Dual 10" Active Studio Subwoofer. You can reach out to Neumann by email at headoffice@neumann.com to request more detailed information for the KH 870.

Q: 4. Can these speakers be run directly off of a PC? If so, how do you connect them as the pictures show connections I have not used before.

A: The CMS 50 is a professional studio monitoring speaker and thus has connections typically found only in professional equipment. To integrate it with a computer, which would normally feature a 3.5mm stereo output, you would need a special cable (KOSMYCM2XM03) along with two extension cables (KOM4003, KOM4006) possibly 3-6 feet; your choice. But to maximize performance, I would advise you to invest in nice USB audio converter like the RME ADI-2 Pro, as it will heighten your listening experience by providing a pristine audio signal not available in standard run of the mill computer audio cards.

Q: 5. hi, i would like to see a graphical frequency response for the fostex 6301 N series? please. thank you so much.

A: There are no graphical frequency response charts available currently, however the frequency response range of the Fostex 6301N series is from 70hz to 15khz.

Q: 6. Are these monitors shielded?

A: No, the Genelec 8030C 5" 2-Way 100W Active Studio Monitors are not shielded. The Genelec models that have an "M" at the end of the manufacturer's item code (MFR#) are magnetically shielded.

A: Yes, there is a power cable included with the KRK Classic 5 Studio Monitor.

[Active 3-Way] 22 years ago an audio rep at B&H helped me build my first recording studio. I didn't know enough then to realize how stellar the recommendations that were made were. In early 2022 I decided to do an entire upgrade to my studio, from computers to software etc. One of the original recommendations for monitors were the original Mackie HR824's. They are used as near field monitors. One of the amps on one monitor blew out. So I found my self on a search. I went through the usual suspects. Almost went for the Yamaha's but at the end of the day, i purchased 2 brand new Mackie HR8242. I can't believe they are even better than the originals. Clean, crisp, and flat, every mix sounds as its supposed to, in the studio, on my beats, in my car, on the phone, and on the web. They really are just spectacular monitors. Well worth the price of admission without a doubt. 5

[122.4 dB] These are superb monitors for video editing- and so much fun to listen to for every genre of music. Be careful to set them up properly so each speaker delivers the sound to you at the same time- and use a high quality DAC- and your music and mixes will be delivered exactly as they should be. 5

[90 lb] The KH750 produces tight and detailed sound. No bumps or unwanted intrusions to the music. Its accurate and produces visceral deep bass. 5

[Vertical] I have these on my computer desk and the sub near by. It is really fantastic imaging and sound. It is worth using the MA1 mic and the Neumann software to EQ your monitors. The software takes a little bit to work through, but you only need to do it once. Fortunately, I had a metric tape measure. It only reports distances in cm. I used the Genelec 8000-437B VESA Adapter and some short desktop VESA monitor mounts. It mounts on the KH80 perfectly. These guys can get pretty loud, especially for near-field listening. I set the maximum volume (in Roon) to -24 dB and comfort to -30 dB. The automatic standby is a bit temperamental. I find they come out of standby every now and then, but it's only noticable from the front light. 5

[Black] I've been a long-time user of the original HR824s. When it came time to update, there was no question where I would go. The new mk2s are, in a word, sweet and I look forward to enjoying them for many years to come. Crisp and deep. [Active 3-Way] Well it is true with the KH 310. Clean, accurate, detailed. You don't realize how muddy others sound until you hear the mix through this thing. 5

[0.5%] The large KH420 as well as its junior brother, the KH310, create a remarkably clean sound. They are scientifically designed by real audio engineers in Germany and offer the recording engineer or producer an extremely accurate sound. (What else would you expect from Neumann?) They are tri-amped speakers with very sharp digital 24db/octave crossovers The electronics (3 channels per speaker) are built in. All the speakers need is a line level, balanced input, such as you can easily get from the likes of a Grace m920 or M905, or just board out. The KH420's are designed for normal listening at a distance of 5 to 10 feet. The smaller KH310's do just as well sonically but they are intended to be closer to the listener's ears, say 3-5 ft. as they would be sitting on a console's meter section. The commenter has a pair of EACH of the speakers, so he knows first hand what he is describing. They are simply the very, very finest speaker systems I have heard in over 50 years of critical listening. They are pure gold. They are just super delicious to hear. Toss your hifi speakers out the window and upgrade to these very professional speaker systems. They are worth every penny, and you will never regret buying them. Just be certain you have an extremely clean signal to feed to them. Any sonic defects in source material will instantly be revealed. Not for the faint of heart! 5

[Active 3-Way] Bought these last week, & couldn't wait for them to arrive. After installing them, I was blown away by the fact that they were just as loud as my mackie mr8's in an a/b test. Of course the mr8's more low end, but the clarity of the cms50's across the entire frequency spectrum was nothing short of amazing. Thanks Focal & BH!!! 5

[90 lb] The KH310 produces a beautiful three dimensional sound field. The sound stage has excellent width and depth. Good recordings are reproduced with highs that shimmer, timber and detail that is exciting, smooth and dynamic mids and authoritative lows. I paired them with two KH750 subs. Wow!!! 5
