The DECIMATOR 12 VDC Power Pack with Locking Collaris compatible with virtually all household AC power in use around the world and converts the AC power to 12 VDC. It is suitable for use with the DECIMATOR MD-HX, MD-CROSS, and DMON-4S and features a pin-positive coaxial connector with a locking collar to prevent accidental kick-outs when used with those products. A: I already answered that it's about 16 lb. What is shown as the BEST ANSWER is 6-7 lb. This is not correct, it's about 16 lb. as I said. It's heavy for its size, as it is essentially a car battery with other features. Also, the image shown is not quite correct. it shows three female connectors together near the top left. Those used to be 3, 6, and 9 volt outputs on an older version. They have been replaced by two USB connectors. The description is correct, but not the image.

Q: 4. Does this specific unit have retracting prongs like newer decimator PSU's?

A: I believe the picture are the older ones with the circular prong swap. Although, this could be just an old photo and he the newer style with the folding Edison connection.

A: It has a standard hole in the center that accepts a pin and a ring on the outside. The ring is only for locking on. Two conductor only

A: The easy one first, Yes the battery is replaceable, but it a bit of a chore. Remove all the screws, and the screw that holds the big lamp in place and lift upwards to remove it. Lots of little pieces, just note their locations!/How many cycles? Very hard to estimate, however it should last 3-5 years

I'm not interested in having an AM/FM radio, a siren, flashlights, etc. All in want is something that will power my telescope all night...Are there any similar products that don't have all the extra features? [0.415 lb] I bought this product to power my telescope in the field. It works great, simple to charge, simple to operate and glad i didn't go bigger. I have not found a down-side to it. 5

[0.415 lb] I use the power tank as the power supply for my Meade 10 telescope. It is especially useful when I have a large crowd looking through the scope because I can position it under the tripod. When I run a power line from my car there is always the danger of someone tripping over it. The large light is useful at the end of the observing session when I generally scan the ground looking for stuff that I may have left behind. The Power Tank is a handsome, solid, and well thought out product. 5

[4.5 x 3 x 2"] This is a must have for computerized telescopes. Without this running my 6SE would have been very costly, as it requires 8 AA batteries. They have to be alkaline (@ 1.5v each), rechargeable batteries (@ 1.2v each) are not powerful enough (total 12v required for 6SE). I use AA even when I am using this power tank. If for any reason the power tank gets disconnected I do not lose any of my settings or sky-alignment. The scope only uses batteries when power tank is not connected.I did find the charging lights on this to be very misleading. Fully charged light comes on within two hours of charging, whereas charging can take up to 15 hours. However, I let it charge for 15 hours despite the misleading lights and in operation there have been no issues. I get many hours of viewing on a single charge. 5

[4.5 x 3 x 2"] Since i charged up my scope, i use it 4 times for approximately 3 hours each, and the scope still runs smoothly. With rechargable battery i get 3hrs smooth running before battery starts dying on me. Besides eyepieces best accessory for your scope. I like that it not only power but have all the other features that are quite useful, flashlights etc. 5
