A: The light tent and the fabric sweeps should be dry-cleaned or spot cleaned only. Machine washing is not recommended. Q: 3. Is this compatible with 220v? (using 220v bulbs)

A: Pedro, the Light Shed is really great but you should order it stand alone and buy LED lighting kit. The light burn out too fast and are expensive to replace. LED will work much longer, less heat and with more control.

Q: 4. Would I need to buy strobes for this? or does it have light bulbs built in?

A: Hello, it does NOT come with built in bulbs so you would have to provide your own lighting. We have found the cube to be excellent as it is easy to set up, and works well in a variety of situations - best with shoes, purses, and okay with jewelry

Q: 5. Has anyone tried tossing these in the dryer to get wrinkles out?

A: No. We highly suggest using a steam on a low setting.

Q: 6. Are other colored sweeps with the touch tabs available? Particularly dark blue.

A: There are a few other brands of backgrounds that work with Velcro like the Impact models.This one uses clips but you should be able to attach MyStudio Color backgrounds.The next one is a bit larger but you should be able to attach it in the shooting tent. That is the Smith-Victor 28.

Q: 7. Would this work well with kittens?

A: The claws and the thin material might not mix too well.

Q: 8. From the pictures, it looks like it has zippers on the sides -- do these show up in photos?

A: Generally, the zipper cannot be seen in the photos. However, that can depend on the angle at which you are shooting and how reflective the item in the tent would be.

Q: 9. Can this item be used outside using natural daylight?Thank you!

A: Certainly - you might still need some auxiliary lighting to deal with shadows....but otherwise it will work just fine..

Q: 10. I'm assuming you set up your lighting around the outside of the box and the lights penetrate through the box? Never used one before.

A: That is correct. The fabric material used with the Impact Digital Light Shed - Jumbo (47 x 47 x 47") is translucent and designed to both transmit and soften light. You would set the light outside the light tent, shining the light onto the exterior fabric, and the fabric diffuses the light, providing soft, even lighting on the subject inside the tent. You can control the light by varying the distance between the light and the softbox.
