Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How long can Glycin be stored without opening the package?

A: The shelf life of glycine powders and 10x stock solutions can exceed 1 year. However, as glycine ages, it becomes oxidized and may yield yellow-colored solutions. This may affect the pH of the solution. If yellowing occurs, it is recommended that you replace the product.

Q: 2. Can this product be used for Lith developing?

A: Photographers' Formulary Potassium Bromide can be used as an ingredient for lith developer.

Q: 3. Can this Tannic Acid be use tone cyanotype prints? If so, what color does it turn the print?

A: Tannic Acid does in fact tone cyanotype prints. If toned straight in a bath of tannic acid it will darken the print give it more of a violet/purple tone. There are a variety of toning combinations that use this, and I recommend the Book of Alternative Processes by Christopher James if you're interesting in more.

Q: 4. Do I need to mix with water? Does it comes in spray recipient?

A: The Photographers' Formulary Glycerin (100mL) needs to be diluted in water. Since this is a concentrated formula, the spray trigger cap is not provided with this bottle.

Q: 5. if I get 100 grams Potassium Ferricyanide should I get 250 grams Ferric Ammonium Citrate to get proper soulution for cyanotype prints ?

A: This would be a proper mixture for cyanotype prints.

Q: 6. How long is the shelf life once mixed? Is the solution oxygen sensitive?

A: This is from their website:The unused solution keeps indefinitely. After the first use, however, it should not be kept more than two months. Its capacity is about 20 8X10's for paper, 29 rolls of 120film, or 36 exposure 35mm film per liter of working solution.I'm not sure about oxidation, but with at two month shelf life, I don't believe that will be a problem (I am not an expert on this subject).

Q: 7. Can we use this to heat chemicals, too?

A: Yes.

Q: 8. Can the air be squeezed out to improve shelflife of contents? Is it rigid?

A: The bottle should be mostly full, but it can be squeezed slightly to remove air. It was not designed specifically for this, but I like this bottle better than the collapsible kind because its easier to wash and keep clean between uses.

Q: 9. Can u get this in bigger size?

A: We do carry a 1.1 (4000ml) gallon version from the same manufacturer, here: https://bhpho.to/2UNUhAp

Q: 10. is this a 3 piece set?

A: Hi, this is a single beaker--this one with the arrow underneath it.

[0.01 lb] Use it for bleaching bw prints. I've only done teats strips so far but it works. Dissolves yellow into water. Add KBr as a restrainer

[0.01 lb] I use this for the pre-development film-bleaching method invested by David Kachel called Selective Latent Image Modification Technique, used for development contractions while supporting lower-value densities. The same formula is my print-bleaching choice, because I use warm-toned papers, and it's better than ferricyanide alone. I know I can count of PF products for quality and consistency.
