Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it support half-pedalling?

A: Yes, this pedal produces different sustaining levels, depending on how far you press down. I would describe it as a continuum of sustaining, rather than just a couple of levels.

Q: 2. is it made out of plastic or metal?

A: What the others have said, both metal and plastic but it's very sturdy. Hands down the best sustain pedal imho...and I've used many others over the years and they never last as long as the Yamaha. I used my original one for almost 20 years before it gave up!

Q: 3. Does this unit have the transpose feature?

A: Yes, the Roland RD-88 does have the transpose feature with a dedicated button to turn it on and off.

Q: 4. Will the vfp 1/15 work with a Casio Keyboard ?

A: As well as being a quality pedal for Studiologic keyboards, the VFP1/15 is also suitable for Casio, Ensoniq, Fatar and Korg products.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the DGX 670?

A: Yes, the Yamaha FC4A Piano Style Switching Sustain Pedal is compatible with the Yamaha DGX-670 88-Key Portable Digital Grand Piano with Speakers.

Q: 6. Does this keyboard have a place to hold music sheets?

A: Yes, the Yamaha NP-32 Piaggero Portable Piano-Style Keyboard includes a music rest to hold sheet music.

Q: 7. What is the layering capability of the RD-88? How many sounds can be layered at any one time?

A: The Roland RD-88 Digital Stage Piano features three Internal zones (Upper 1, Upper 2, and Lower), and one tone can be assigned to each of these zones. You can perform using combinations of tones by turning each zone on or off. You can also have multiple tones layered together at the same time, and even have different tones played in the left and right parts of the keyboard. The keyboard's Dual Mode lets the user play Upper 1 and Upper 2 tones layered across the entire keyboard.

Q: 8. Is the pedal mechanically quiet? My present pedal makes a loud clicking sound when stepped on.

A: Yes, the SP-2 is mechanically quiet and construction is solid. It will not create a loud clicking sound when you step on the pedal.

Q: 9. I just purchased a Yamaha MX49. I am searching for an accessory sustain pedal. What's the difference between the FC3 and FC4A?

A: Either of these pedals will work with your keyboard. The FC4A is built more ruggedly, to withstand heavy use for a longer amount of time, and would be my top choice if you will be using the pedal frequently. They are both designed to closely reproduce the feel of a real piano's sustain pedal.

Q: 10. Will this work with Kawai vpc1?

A: Referring to the user manual for the VPC-1, it appears that this pedal does provide the connection types that the keyboard is expecting. The VFP3/10 pedal provides a single stereo TRS jack and a single mono TS jack for its pedal connectivity, with contact open at rest.

[1.87 lb] Ordered pedal, received emails of order and shipping notices.  Really like how B&H does things.  Great service. Pedal is nice and heavy so it does not move on floor.  Performs as expected as used on an electric piano.

[1.87 lb] The pedal that came with my Yamaha was really cheap and difficult to feel. This thing is amazing! I decided not to go with a cheap knockoff as I'm sure this will be with me for a while. B&H had the best price anywhere by at least 25%!
