The JBL ASB6115 15" Passive Subwoofer - High Poweris a professional-quality passive subwoofer, well suited for performing arts facilities, theatrical sound design, auditoriums, houses of worship, live sound venues, night clubs, sport facilities, and theme parks. The lightweight, vented enclosure features a front-loaded 15" Differential Drive woofer with a dual-voice coil and dual gap. With a powerful neodymium magnet and robust cone, the ASB6115 ensures a long life of optimum performance.

The subwoofer can utilize a 3200W (peak) amplifier to power the driver and offers a frequency range of 32 Hz to 1 kHz with a 132 dB peak SPL. The enclosure is made from 5/8" birch ply and finished with a tough, black DuraFlex coating and a 14-gauge steel grille, which is lined with acoustically transparent foam to protect the driver. There are 16 threaded M10 attachment points to provide versatile mounting options.

Q: 4. What is, in essence, the difference between this subwoofer--VRX918S "flying"--and the JBL SRX918S ?

A: The JBL SRX918S 18" Powered Subwoofer is a self powered live sound subwoofer and cannot be fly-able for array deployment. The JBL VRX918S 18" High-Powered Flying Subwoofer is a passive subwoofer, a separate amplifier is required to power it and it can be suspended from an array .

Q: 5. Can I connect a subwoofer to the speakers directly Thks

A: No. The JBL SRX815 15" Two-Way Bass Reflex Passive System is a passive speaker, so it needs to be connected to a power amplifier. Depending on the subwoofer you select, if it is passive, it will also need to be connected to a power amp, while an active speaker has the amplifier built-in. If you are using a mixer, the mixer's output will connect to the input on the power amp(s) and the speakers will connect to the output from the power amps.

Q: 6. Does this come with any brackets need to fly these subs?

A: No, brackets are not included with the sub. The JBL VRX-AR-II Array Frame (B&H # JBVRXAFII) is the optional suspension frame for the VRX918SP. The system includes the center frame, two side arms, four quick-release pins, two drop levers, and a pair of 3/8" shackles.

Q: 7. Can this box also be used as a re-amping device? Using the XLR output as an input?

A: This device can not be used as a re-amping device. The XLR connection is only meant for a mic level output send to a mixer or interface.

A: Unfortunately there are no casters for the JBL VRX918SP. Everything to transport it is sold as one piece. We have it at B&H the part number is B&H # JBVRX918SSTR.

Q: 10. How do you guys have this paired with your 305's? Is there anyway to use the 305's and the sub with the MONICON controller? Are you using XLR or 1/4 in?

A: Just get the two xlr out from you audio interface to the 310s and from there to the 305. The 310s already have the crossover.

[Plywood] I am powering the JBL 3181F with a Crown XLS1002 bridged at 4 ohms. While it doesn't get (or much) below 30hz, I never hear this subwoofer distort or bottom out. Its impact is thunderous and devastating. It took my home theater from amateur level bass to cinematic level bass. Best investment I've made so far in my home theater journey. Why try to replicate theater sound when you can purchase speakers made for it? 5
