The harness can hold up a Kinesis belt when used with the separately-sold H160 Harness Suspender. When combined with an H153 Chest Harness Kit, an H255 Padded Backpack Harness can chest-mount a DSLR camera or holster case.

Separately-purchased Kinesis H437 Harness to Snap Hook Straps allow a holster or pouch with D-Rings to be attached, while H436 Harness to Kinesis Camera Straps can be used to connect a DSLR outside of a case that utilizes the Kinesis quick-release system. When using the harness with a Kinesis long lens case, an H130 Long Lens Case to Harness Adapter Strap is recommended to pull the top of the long lens towards the shoulders while helping to prevent the contents of the case from swaying.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is it easy to use the camera without removing it from the harness?

A: Yes it is you do not have to remove it from the harness wile using it

Q: 2. Would this be overkill for a Sound Devices 633, a few G4 receivers, and in future possibly the 633 expander by Marenius or Kortwich? Struggling to decide between this and the Portabrace AH-2M.

A: This would be a good option for the mixer and wireless mic systems you are planning to use. The extra padding and support will be of benefit, especially if you are planning on adding more gear to your bag in the future.

Q: 3. Some harnesses have more of an elastic type material and stretch with the weight of the camera. Will this do that or is it stronger material? Also would it hold a Canon 70D with a 600mm lens?

A: Does not stretch. I replaced one that did with this and nice to not have camera bouncing around when I walk.I have used it with a 5D III & 100-400 with no problem.

Q: 4. Does this harness come with all accessories needed to attach the cameras, or do those need to be purchased separately?

A: The Coiro Padded Harness (Brown) comes with Two 1/4" Stainless Steel Screws required to attach the cameras to the harness.

Q: 5. Hi, would this be suitable for a Sound Devices 633 (in CS-633 bag), a few G4 receivers and in future possibly the 633 expander by Marenius or Kortwich? Struggling to decide between this and the Portabrace AH-2M.

A: Both of the harnesses are suitable for use with the Sound Devices 633 in a CS-633 bag, but the AH-2.5 offers more support for the back and spine, and seems to have more padding as well compared to the AH-2M. I think the AH-2.5 is the better option for both support and comfort, especially if you'll be carrying the gear all day, which can weigh about 6 lbs.

Q: 6. How to convert to tripod strap?

A: Please write us with the tripod you have in mind. prophoto@bhphoto.com.

Q: 7. Can you shoot photos while camera is holstered? I have difficulty holding my camera, especially with heavy lens on.

A: You may absolutely shoot while the camera is holstered to the Kinesis H717-J X-harness. Keep in mind, however, that while tethered, the camera will have a limited range of motion.

Q: 8. Does it Fit larger people example big & Tall sized men 6ft. 4 ecr!!!!?

A: The PortaBrace HR-DSLR Padded Nylon Camera Harness is most comfortable for "average" sized people--someone who is 6' 4" and of average weight would find it a great option; for bigger people, it might be a bit tight.

Q: 9. Does it prevent the camera from swinging side to side(or forward and back) when hiking?

A: Yes it does. However I found it cumbersome when using a long lens. The best thing is that it allows you to shoot all day, (6-8 hours) and not feel worn out like when you use a conventional strap.

Q: 10. Where is this harness made?

A: The Coiro Padded Harness (Tan) is currently made in Ukraine.

[0.57 lb] I bought this to go with the Kinesis large lens pouch, it’s well padded and comfortable. I’m happy with the purchase.

[0.57 lb] I have owned Cotton Carrier and Trekking Safari harness, and this is my favorite. It is comfortable to hold my Nikon D700 with power grip and 70-200 f/2.8. It doesn't use the screw on the bottom of the camera body, and is easy to be unbuckled to put on a tripod. The only con is it is quite bulky in my backpack. The 90 degree turn required by Cotton Carrier is quite annoying, and the back vest push pressure on the neck when the front vest hold all the weight. Trekking Safari is comfortable and it doesn't use the bottom screw as well, but it restricts the camera movements, especially if you try to turn the camera to a portrait position.

[0.57 lb] This is something I knew I would need as I'd ordered the
Kinesis E584 XX-Large Lens Pouch. What's the sense in having a lens pouch that you have no convenient way to carry...

It's been a great addition to the lens pouch making traveling that much easier.

[0.57 lb] I have owned Cotton Carrier and Trekking Safari harness, and this is my favorite. It is comfortable to hold my Nikon D700 with power grip and 70-200 f/2.8. It doesn't use the screw hole on the bottom of the camera, which is easy to be unbuckled to put on a tripod. Kgear sells inexpensive parts that support multiple cameras, and their buckles can be attached to the original camera straps so you can easily switch between harness and camera strap. The only con is it is quite bulky in my backpack. The 90 degree turn required by Cotton Carrier is quite annoying. I missed some shots in event shooting due to this stupid turn. The back vest pushes pressure on my neck while the front vest holds all the weight. It is not tripod friendly and you have to carry the hex key around. Trekking Safari is comfortable and nicely distributes most of the weight to the back. It doesn't use the bottom screw as well. It is quite compact and is easy to fit in a backpack. However, it restricts the camera movements, especially if you try to turn the camera to a portrait position.

[0.57 lb] After being bedridden with pain in my neck and shoulders for almost 2 weeks after walking around with my medium format camera and telephoto lens hanging around my neck with a conventional neck strap--I purchased this harness. OMG, what a difference the distribution of the weight makes!! I strongly recommend this product!

[0.57 lb] This strap is an absolute necessity for this kinesis telephoto bag.. and it distributes the weight very. However, this strap should be included in the purchase of the bag.

[0.57 lb] I'd been using a Black Rapids cross body strap but it kept slipping off my shoulder when I used it with the Olympus 300mm f4. This harness is much more comfortable and attaches to the camera lugs instead of screwing into the camera tripod mount. The initial setup is a little fiddley. I find it's best to put the harness on and then attach the camera with the quick release buckles.
