Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this harmful to the lungs?

A: Never heard disease because of metol

Q: 2. Do I need to mix with water? Does it comes in spray recipient?

A: The Photographers' Formulary Glycerin (100mL) needs to be diluted in water. Since this is a concentrated formula, the spray trigger cap is not provided with this bottle.

Q: 3. Can the air be squeezed out to improve shelflife of contents? Is it rigid?

A: The bottle should be mostly full, but it can be squeezed slightly to remove air. It was not designed specifically for this, but I like this bottle better than the collapsible kind because its easier to wash and keep clean between uses.

Q: 4. if I get 100 grams Potassium Ferricyanide should I get 250 grams Ferric Ammonium Citrate to get proper soulution for cyanotype prints ?

A: This would be a proper mixture for cyanotype prints.

Q: 5. What is the expire date of this item?

A: The expiration date is 2017. It does not have a specific one but the manufacture gives it that time frame from when they make it.

Q: 6. How do you label your chemicals with this? I have not found anything that lasts too long

A: One option is to use a Brother P-Touch Label for each bottle. One option is the Brother PT-D210 Portable Label Maker, BH # BRPTD210. https://bhpho.to/2P3NoLi

Q: 7. I have several fibre prints which are printed about half to one stop darker than I would like, can I use potassium ferricyanide as bleach to brighten them up a bit? What is the best dilution ratio? Is it still okay to selenium tone the prints after bleaching?

A: It is better to use a Farmer reducer for a whole print bleaching. And yes after the bleaching prints can be toned in celenium.

Q: 8. is this a 3 piece set?

A: Hi, this is a single beaker--this one with the arrow underneath it.

Q: 9. How long is the shelf life once mixed? Is the solution oxygen sensitive?

A: This is from their website:The unused solution keeps indefinitely. After the first use, however, it should not be kept more than two months. Its capacity is about 20 8X10's for paper, 29 rolls of 120film, or 36 exposure 35mm film per liter of working solution.I'm not sure about oxidation, but with at two month shelf life, I don't believe that will be a problem (I am not an expert on this subject).

Q: 10. What country is it made in?

A: The Photographers' Formulary Tyvek Apron is made in China.

[0.4 oz / 10 g] I use this for the pre-development film-bleaching method invested by David Kachel called Selective Latent Image Modification Technique, used for development contractions while supporting lower-value densities. The same formula is my print-bleaching choice, because I use warm-toned papers, and it's better than ferricyanide alone. I know I can count of PF products for quality and consistency.
