Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I can't fit my 45mm 1:2.8 Mamiya Manual Focus lens on this adapter, though everything I've read says the lens should be compatible. Has anyone else experienced this issue? it fits into the adapter (aka sits in the grooves) but it will not click and lock.

A: If the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Mamiya 645, does not work with the 45mm Mamiya Manual Focus lens for the 645, that means it is defective, and because it has a 2 year warranty, it can be sent back to Fotodiox to get a working adapter.

Q: 2. Does this work with the A7II?

A: I use this with an A7R and several Mamiya lenses, they work great. Just remember auto focus and auto aperture do not work, you must use manual mode. You can use aperture priority mode if you want the camera to set both ISO and Shutter speed. Use Peaking Level to assist with focus, may need to keep the aperture open to get light to focus. Also set Zebra on to help with exposure. Fit of the adapter to both lens and body has been snug with no movement or wiggle. I plan to add several more used Mamiya lenses

Q: 3. Does this adaptor work with newer Phase One lens like the 80mm leaf shutter ? I have an adaptor but only takes the old manual lens I have a new Hartblei 45mm TS which is full manual but has the newer mount flange. Any help would be great as Fotodiox don't come back to me on this question.

A: Hello Lea,Unfortunately, I cannot tell you if it works with Phase One lens. I have only old manuals lens. It works well with them.

Q: 4. Hi, does it work with m645 mount Phase One/Schneider lens? Thanks

A: The following unit accommodate a camera mount FUJIFILM G lens mount to mamiya 645 camera body.

Q: 5. is this mount for mamiya sekor c lenses ?

A: This adapter is for Mamiya Sekor lenses with a 645 mount.

Q: 6. Can you attach this adapter to a tripod?

A: The KIPON Mamiya 645 Lens to Nikon Z Mount Camera Adapter does not have a tripod mount.

Q: 7. Does B&H sell this hood in picture nr 5 or do you know which hood this is to put on a mamiya lens ?

A: We don't have the specific one in the photo, the closest option I could find is this one: https://bhpho.to/3zgco3L As long as your lens has a 77mm filter diameter this should work.

Q: 8. Using this adapter on the GFX and mating a Mamiya 645 35mm N lens, what would be the net focal length of this combination ? Would the net result be similar to a 21mm lens on a 35mm body?

A: No, it won't be nearly that wide. On the GFX 35mm should give you a 28mm field of view (if we are talking full frame equivalence)

Q: 9. Interesting. What Mamiya 645 lenses work with this adaptor? Only the latest digital lenses, older Mamiya AF film lenses, or even manual focus film era lenses? If they work, How do they perform image-quality wise in DX and/or FX modes?

A: The Mamiya 645 lens mount did not change over time so all lens will mount on the adapter. Please be aware, with the newer AF models, the adapter has no provision to adjust the f/stop as this was done through the AF 645 camera bodies. Generally speaking, optical designs for larger formats do not have the resolving power for a lens designed for a smaller format such as 35mm. You might find 35mm lens outperform medium format lens when viewed side by side. The reason being that due to the larger capture area, there was no need to render detail in a small area. One advantage of using a medium format lens on a smaller format body is the ability to use swings and tilts much like you would on a view camera.

Q: 10. Do you offer lenses for the axella system?

A: You can use any Horseman bayonet mount lens that is compatible with the Copal 0 and/or Copal 1 shutters.

[2.4 lb / 1.1 kg] Great adapter! Using it to fit a Mamiya 500mm f5.6 to a SONY A6000. No issues affixing to the camera or lens. Smooth workload for adapting all your Mamiya/Sekor c m645 lenses.

[2.4 lb / 1.1 kg] The quality is good with a solid metal construction. I use it with my Sony A7S, almost entirely for video and after some tests I feel the Mamiya glass is as sharp, if not sharper than my Canon L glass. I am thrilled that I am able to use some really good primes now. Its works perfectly. Zero complaints.

[2.4 lb / 1.1 kg] I have played around with the adapter and two lens so far, have one more lens to try out. Easy to use on my Sony A6000 with focus peaking. $50 to get some use out of 3 old lens is a bargain. Adapter is well made and the lens lock in solid.

[2.4 lb / 1.1 kg] The product does exactly what it claims. I bought this item to use my Mamiya 645 lenses on my new Sony A7s. Wow. To see my 80mm lens back to life making beautiful images and video is really incredible to me. The photos it makes married with the A7s is magnificent. The photos are tack sharp because the 645 lens is only using its sweet spot. The blur is dreamy and having a real aperture ring is great. I can't say enough of how happy I am using these two products together.

[2.4 lb / 1.1 kg] I recently purchased a Sony A7ii and instead of buying new lenses for it I bought this adapter and am able to use all my Mamiya 645 Sekkor lenes and they work perfect with it and look fantastic, for only $50 bucks I added 5 lenses to my arsenal

[2.4 lb / 1.1 kg] This little $ dollar adapter allowed me to get out my old vintage Mamiya lens' and use them on my Sony a7r. I have no autofocus with this adapter but the a7r has great features to overcome that. It's well made and simple to use. even has a base for mounting the tripod on to it. Glad I found it.
