Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Isn't this the #21 orange standard?

A: A #21 orange filter is the standard type. A #22 filter is more like a deep orange.

Q: 2. Is the 49 the correct filter for the Q2 monochrom (with the hood attached)?

A: Yes, the Leica E49 UVa II Filter (Black) is compatible with the Leica Q2 Monochrom Digital Camera with the lens hood attached.

Q: 3. Will it fit an older Trinovid (1997)?

A: Yes!!!

Q: 4. What is the filter factor of this?

Q: 5. Hi, this filter fit all type of summicron lens ?

A: It will only fit a Summicron lens that has a 39mm thread mount as the thread mount sizes do differ in the Summicron line.

Q: 6. Will this work with the supplied hood in the Summicron 35mm Lens? Thanks.

A: If you are referring to the newest edition of the Summicron 35mm, the answer is yes. The filter sits inside of where the hood slides onto the outside of the lens. I have the lens in silver and got the filter in silver as well, and they look great together.

Q: 7. Does this filter fit a Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH. Lens (Black)? Thanks, Robert

A: No. The Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH takes 46mm filters, not 39mm.

Q: 8. Can this filter be used with a Hasselblad Zeiss 150 mm f4 lens?

A: Our research shows that the Zeiss 150mm F/4, which is a vintage lens, has a 52mm filter thread. This filter will not work. Heliopan does offer this same filter with a 52mm Thread, it is B&H # HE2252. https://bhpho.to/2DcH23B

Q: 9. Is this filter front-threaded to stack other filters?

A: These filters allow stacking.

Q: 10. With the Leica 18mm lens when using this UV Filter does the Leica Lens Cap fit securely? It does not using a Chiaro Filter.

A: If you are referring to the Leica Elmarit-TL 18 mm f/2.8 ASPH. Lens, then yes, the Leica E39 UVa II Filter (Silver) should be compatible for use with the lens, and the lens cap should still be compatible for use on the 39mm front filter threads on the filter.

[Glass] The Leica B&W contrast filters are the best filters I have used on my M Monochrom. Even though they are more expensive than other contrast filters, they worth every penny. The filter does not degrade the Leica lens to my eye. I can highly recommend them to anyone who wants the best quality in filters period.

[Glass] If you're shooting a Leica Monochrom or a film camera loaded with black and white film, using colored filters allows you to change relationships among tones without having to do selections in post. This filter lightens foliage just the right amount to differentiate it from other tones. Here's an illustration: No Filter, Red Filter (also very useful), Green Filter. And, as other reviewers point out, this Leica filter fits under Leica hoods and is lighter than B+W and Heliopan filters.

[0.095 lb] It’s an orange filter and acts like an orange filter. It fits my 35mm Leica lens. What more can I say?

[46 mm] So green filters are about as rare as gold teeth. I will say that when I want my filter to fit under my leica brand hood and I want great quality glass I will pay to make sure those expectations were met. Yes there are cheaper filters and its a filter but I bought into leica to support a film camera company, thank you leica, you are the last and the best. The green filter is not the deep green but the lighter green and a great choice for those looking for a mild effect in nature. I haven't shot any nudes yet but I've heard green can bring a real skin quality. Leica is not cheap but this filter will be in my family long after I am gone. That is what Leica is about.
