The Smart-AVI HKM-Pro 3-Port HDMI KVM Switchfrom Smart-AVI HKM-Pro 3-Port HDMI KVM Switchallows the user to control three computers using a single monitor, USB keyboard & mouse, and stereo speakers / headset. The output section for the user features an HDMI port, two USB 2.0 type A ports (for keyboard and mouse), two USB 3.0 type A ports, a stereo audio jack, and a mic jack. It also offers an MHL 1.1 port to connect compatible Android smartphones. Each of the three input sections features an HDMI port, a USB 3.0 type B port, a stereo audio input jack, and a microphone jack.

This KVM switch supports hotkey switching, which makes it easy to switch between computers. In addition, emulation of keyboard and mouse functions allow connected computers to boot normally without keyboard error. The HKM-Pro 3-Port HDMI KVM Switch comes with a power supply, an HDMI-to-micro USB cable for MHL function, and two sets of USB 3.0, HDMI, and Audio Cables.

A: Sorry, no. The IOGEAR 2-Port Dual View TAA Compliant KVM Switch will only display 4096 x 2160 @ 60 Hz.

Q: 5. Can the RS-232 control and infrared control be used at the same time? I have experienced matrix switches where you start entering your from and to with infrared, and when a command comes in on RS232 it resets the infrared command and you have to start over.

[2.4 lb] I have been using a pair of these for two 1K monitors switching between Windows (at first W7 and now W10) and Linux (Kubuntu) for several years now. I have never had much of a problem with them. I have always used a wired keyboard with them which suits my needs since I use it on a desktop. I have also always used a Logitech M510 wireless mouse with them and that worked perfectly, including forward/back side buttons which I use frequently in Linux to switch between virtual desktops. I have never had to touch the settings in the KVM, which means mouse emulation has always been on. However, one of them died, sort of. It got worse and worse. I think they must have some kind of low power processor in them that deals with them mouse emulation and keyboard functions. I could no longer communicate with it via the keyboard nor did my scroll wheel or side buttons work on the mouse. Intermittently at first, but permanently at the end. I switched the KM part of the KVM to the other one which still worked fine. I had trouble finding a replacement at some of the other big sites where you might expect to get them, but was happy to see the B&H had them in stock. And, as usual the shipping was prompt. The replacement works perfectly. I expect to get another bunch of years of service from it. 5

[2.4 lb] Connected a Lenovo think pad and a MacBook Pro 2014 to a wired mouse, wired keyboard and a 2k display. The only change I made to my setup was I changed the Mac refresh rate to 60hz down from 75. 5

[2.4 lb] Having compared prices between this KVM with others, I was taking a risk by not knowing will this switch validate such a price gap from its cheaper competitors. Outcome? Well worth it! As instructed, I used wired connections for my keyboard and mouse and everything connected without a problem. The switch easily and quickly moves between my four computers (3 PCs and 1 Mac). The keys and mouse as well as video perform perfectly. When I had to reconfigure my office everything had to be unplugged. When I set everything back up, my monitor displayed "HDMI Out of Range" for all my computers. Not good. Went on to the website and found an excellent video that instructed me on how to reset my switch. I followed the video's very clear audio/visual instructions and everything works again! Thanks Startech for making a very good product that met the expectations I had with its price. Then, also for putting together an excellent website with the resources needed to allow me to correct my problem. 5
