The windjammer slips on the foam windscreen that's included with the VideoMic NTG, providing a precise and snugly fit that helps isolate the mic from the elements. Reading is fundamental. The windscreen fits like a glove over the foam screen. I prefer this as it keeps me from needing to carry and store both separately. The windjammer will stay on for most use cases. It does its job reducing wind noise with minimal impact to sound quality. 5
