The Wooden Camera UVF Mount for Sony F55/F5replaces the original Sony EVF bracket and accepts the Sony DVF-EL100 0.7" OLED or DVF-L350 3.5" LCD Viewfinder directly. It is similar to the UVF v2 Mount for Sony F55/F5 but doesn't include a 15mm rod clamp. Instead, it is designed to be used with top handles or other on-camera hardware that have a rod clamp built-in. It features a NATO rail kit, UVF v2 sled, and Sony viewfinder adapter that combine to offer tilt, horizontal, and vertical adjustments for positioning your EVF or monitor.

The NATO rail kit consists of a 15mm rod with a 4" NATO rail attached. The rod portion slots into a sideways-oriented rod clamp on your top handle or rig, allowing for tilt and distance adjustment. The included UVF v2 sled slides onto the NATO rail, securing into place using a thumbscrew, and provides attachment points for the Sony viewfinder adapter. The sled can also attach to any NATO-standard rail. A safety pin at the end of the NATO rail prevents the mounting bracket, and your viewfinder, from accidentally sliding off of the rail.

Q: 1. Will this work on the FS7M2? It looks like it wouldn't allow the viewfinder to retract since the fs7m2 has a larger thumb screw on the viewfinder where it's held to the rod.

A: Hi David, You should be able to use this kit with the FS7 MKII LCD and please note that new stock version use a square rod on the rail adapter. You should not have any clearance issues adjusting your LCD.

Q: 2. Does this require any additional cables, like some of the other V-Mount to Gold mount adapters out there, or does the power pass right through the main unit? Just trying to figure out if I need cable accessories... thanks!

Q: 7. Would this also work on the Sony FX6? I know Wooden Camera has one that is more tailor-made for the FX6 but I would like something I could use on both cameras until I'm able to afford a separate baseplate for the FX6. Thank you!

A: Yes. The following base plate would adapt nicely to you unit.

Q: 8. Will this allow a Sony V-Mount Charger I have to charge generic Gold Mount batteries? I know some chargers have additional contacts for temperature sensors while charging. Does it pass those as well?

A: We must recommend that you use an appropriate charger. There is a strong risk of damage to your batteries if you do not.

Q: 9. Is this version of the Unified Baseplate 100% compatible with the Sony FX6?

A: No, The Wooden Camera Unified Baseplate for FS5, EVA-1, VariCam LT, VariCam 35 would not be for the Sony FX6. Wooden recommends working with the following model. BH # WO222200 and we have a rig kit BH #WO283700 that includes the 222200 Unified baseplate for FX6.

Q: 10. I know they have a version for the C300mkii, but will this version fit the c300mkii?

A: Yes it will. This baseplate will work with just about any camera but they optimized the size/height to fit the C200/C200B/C700 really well.

[4" (10.16 cm)] The Cage Kit has everything I was looking for and more. I wanted a rig that had 15mm rod adapters for my matt box and follow focus. I also wanted to be able to mount a monitor and a light, the multiple 1/4-20 and 3/8 threaded holes will provide many configurations. The ablility to go hand held, and easily mount the camera using my quick release wedge plate, was the feature that sold me.The assembly was easy, and the camera still fit into the supplied hard shell case with minor adjustments.This is the perfect complement to my new camera, I will recommend this to everyone as a solid, smart purchase. 5

[4" (10.16 cm)] I love the LCD indicator screen. very easy to read and useful. We use the battery for out LiveU backpack and it works perfectly and provides plenty of run time. 5

[0.8 lb] I use this on my Sony PMW-F5 to adapt my Anton Bauer G-mount Dionic 90 batteries. The adapter is sturdy and doesn't flex in the V-mount. I wish there was a bit more metal in its construction, however, but the trade-off would be additional weight, so I am satisfied. If you need more power output flexibility, I would suggest the Switronic JetPac. 5

[4" (10.16 cm)] Most people will find this useful for a RED Epic or dragon, since most of those are set up with V mount batteries. It's cool to when using the f5 or f55 because you can get away from using the proprietary Sony battery system. Being a first Ac and Steadicam operator, I find that Gold mount batteries such as the anton/bauer line lock in better. To each their own, but here are some of the benefits I found: You pick up some extra DTaP ports to plug in more accessories with this adapter, and it will also extend the battery out from the camera about an inch which can help to better balance the rig front to back. 5

[4" (10.16 cm)] I am using this without a top plate, which apparently you can use with or without. It fits perfect, is not excessive in size, and perfectly protects the cable without making it harder to remove! 5

[0.8 lb] I was pleasantly surprised to find that the EVF Cable Protector was so flush with the WC Top Plate and added virtually no height, which I found frustrating to the overall form factor of the camera with the competing Arri Top Plate that the camera shipped with. While I haven't been incredibly happy with the quality control from previous WC purchases, I've found the F5's WC accessories to be some of the best and most durable available for slimming down what can become an extremely cumbersome setup. 5
