Optimized for Sigma SA-mount lenses in the Global Vision line, the Sigma TC-1401 1.4x Teleconverter for Sigma SAfrom Sigma TC-1401 1.4x Teleconverter for Sigma SAwill offer an increase in focal length of 1.4 times for select Global Vision lenses. This model offers full communication between the lens and camera and will allows autofocus to operate at up to f/8. The teleconverter also features one Special Low Dispersion element for reducing the appearance of chromatic aberrations and maintaining quality. Additionally, for protection, the TC-1401 is both dust and splashproof. When attached, the 1.4x conversion results in a light loss of approximately one stop.

NOTE: Autofocus may not function when using lenses with a maximum aperture of f/5.6 or lower.

A: Thank you for your interest in Sigma products. Since Nikon D5300 doesn't support F8 Auto Focus, The combination of the lens and the camera will not AF.

[Sigma SA] I bought this TC years ago for my Sigma 150-600 Sport, at that time a $2000 lens. First it didn't work with the D800E but I decided to keep it since I had the impression of a good optical quality. I moved to a Z7 and it worked, was optically OK losing a bit of sharpness but the AF was really slow compared to the lens alone. I then moved to a prime Nikon 500pf and things started to get better, virtually no drops in sharpness (the 500pf was making up for it) but still sluggish AF. When I moved to a Z8 a world opened up to me, now I got sharpness and AF with a 700mm focal length equivalency so I decided to write this review and give 5 stars years after having bought it. 5

[1.4x] I have several Sigma Art, Sport and Contemporary lenses and after a bit of research decided to try the Sigma TC-1401 1.4x Teleconverter for Nikon F mount lenses. I use if primarily with my Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 Sport and Sigma 100-400mm f5-6.3 lenses. While it does kick things up an f stop, I've really enjoyed using it outdoors when the sun is shining and at night when capturing pictures of the moon. 5

[1 Stop] Gives me the extra reach I needed for wildlife shots. The autofocus works at f8 and higher with good clarity on my Sigma 150-600mm. I highly recommend it. 5
