[3.85 lb] I used this mixer for the better part of a season on an ocean focused natural history show. Complete run and gun. Its packed with features. No rust from salt water spray (yet). It's been banged up from a lot of travel (always in a checked in pelican) and didn't miss a beat. Just recently (season 2) another sound guy on the show somehow broke the headphone monitoring jack by jamming in the monitoring volume knob, so it isnt invincible, but it can take a beating. For the price, nothing I know of comes close. It's like the 5D MKII of the sound world. Comes with a little bag, which is handy but you'll either want to get a pro bag for it (Porta Brace makes one), or Velcro an extra pouch onto it to make it usable.

[3.85 lb] This little mixer is Great for DSLR videographers. I use it with my Canon 60D and it's help eliminate the AGC that is standard with that camera. Clear sound and consistant power from the batteries keeps me going for hours of shooting.

[11 kOhms] The Azden FMX-32a is my second Azden mixer. I own, and still use, the earlier, 32 version. As a professional videographer, I shoot videos that often require more than one microphone. An example of these include dance recitals, wedding ceremonies, question and answer lectures, and town and city counsel meetings - to name a few. It goes without saying that wireless microphones are the norm in these situations. The Azden-32a has 3 XLR mic inputs that allow you to control the level of each mic. Output from each input can be assigned to either a Left or right channel by little switches below the level controls. Individual Limiters can be turned On or Off to protect against in-the-red-zone output. While the Azden FMX-32a does provide a headphone input for monitoring the audio, I use the mic input on my video camera to monitor my audio. Output levels are monitored by green, yellow, and red lights The power for the Azden is provided by an easily-accessed little compartment on the top of the mixer and utilizes 6 double A batteries. Electrical power is also possible with the purchase of an additional DC adapter. Dimensions of the unit - Length: 6 1/2 Width 3 1/2 Height: 2, In addition to its superb features, the construction of the Azden. Is top notch quality. And lastly, what I absolutely love about this little guy is how I am able to attach it to my video camera. Keep in mind that I am not using the Azden attached to my video camera in a walk-around shoot. I am attaching it to my camera that is attached to a tri-pod that is attached to wheels (for mobility). How do I attach it to my camera? I purchased a K-Tek Shoe Mount plate. I Attached the plate to the bottom of the Azden FMX-32a with heavy duty Velcro. My mic receivers are attached to a thin wooden plate with Velcro. If you are shooting a job in which you require the ability to use multiple, check out the Azden FMX-32a.

[3.85 lb] I am a broadcast ENG audio mixer and just used my new FMX-42a on a 5 day shoot. I have used a Shure FP-32 for 10 years and it finally needed to be replaced. Overall, great sound, intuitive controls, solid build and feel for the Azden. Also, great to have the 4th channel if needed. The camera return feature on the 42a worked well and was worth the extra expense over the FMX-42. Only things I missed from the Shure was a battery charge check feature and a front panel headphone level control. The level control on the FMX-42 is on the side of the mixer - good so you don't accidentally hit it, but hard to reach through my audio vest. Battery performance was excellent. VU meters were responsive and accurate. Great mixer especially for the price and a great replacement for the Shure FP32.

[11 kOhms] I use it for mixing during deposition recordings. It is quick to set up. Easy to manage the levels. Built in 1khz tone. The slate mic means I don't have to set up another mic just for announcements.

[11 kOhms] This field mixer is packed with features at a price that can't be beat. You can use internal batteries or use a camera battery with a D-Tap and cable to supply long lasting power. There are two versions of this mixer, one with camera return and one with digital output. Make sure you get the version you want. I accidentally got the digital output version and had to return it.
