A: This is a nice addition to your system and I believe it will work with the mini-ipad. We only have a full size ipad and I did remove the case. I also purchased an inexpensive mic stand which allowed for a nice tight fit and height flexibility.

A: I'm sorry. The 5th generation iPad is too large for this device.

A: This has screws holding the V-mount in place. We do not recommend removing them though.

Q: 8. How large is the opening for holding the tablet? I have an iPad mini with a Zugu case that's about 0.45" thick. Will the openings be large enough?

A: The The Joy Factory LockDown Universal C-Clamp Carbon Fiber Mount will not be compatible with an iPad Mini with a case, as that would make the device thicker then the maximum specifications of .4" depth for the mount.

[3.8 lb] I bought this product to hold my ipad mini on the yoke of my airplane. The problem I've had is that so many holders and mounts require a naked ipad, but I use heavy duty cases like LifeProof. What I really like about this mount is that is truly can flex to fit ipads in cases. And it's very rugged. I just finished using it on a 5 hour flight. 5

[3.8 lb] I use this with my nanlite Forza 60 and their D-tap cable...mount it to the light stand and voila! The clamp handle isn't great, but so far it's been holding up after a year of use 5

[3.8 lb] It does exactly what it is supposed to do. Anywhere you need a V-Mount battery that you are going to d-tap anyway you can put it. A stand, half way up a crane, you name it it stays there. Bought 2 and getting 2 more. Way better than a bulky plate that costs way more. 5
